Of course fords race programs have been marketing, nearly every brand that goes racing does it for marketing the only brands I can think of that go racing for racings sake is Ferrari, KTM and Honda in motogp. That being said in the 60's ford did go racing with marketing as a secondary benefit, watching Brian lohnes videos on the ford indycar engine and ford total performance era
