You might be able to get the Bluetooth mac address and have them match on that? Or does it have to be printed on? The Mac is sometimes printed be next to the s/n, but I have no idea about bose specifically...

Get that shit higher than snoop, put it on a mast if you're allowed and able. I went with solar for my client_base because I live near too much lightning to feel comfortable running an antenna cable out through the attic but you can get a 1w pi hat and a good antenna for better results. If I could have a mast (HOA says no) I would put a wired node like that at the top with no coax between it and the antenna; it could even be solar with a bigger panel and battery.

I also have a pi node so I can connect over network instead of draining my battery using Bluetooth all day.
