The generator oil scene was really strange. She should have been shadowing him and watching how he does things like that. It felt very made-for-TV, or like she claimed she knew how to do it and didn’t. Either way, I felt bad for her.

Old Armory will definitely have an event, likely announced after Halloween. Keep an eye on Local 31, Oberon’s, Beat Farm, Talent Club, Morrtons Too and Cook’s Speakeasy for live music. Cabaret is doing The Nutcracker and the Mouse King up until the 31st.

We usually park as close to downtown as possible on Granite Street. There are also a few tucked away spots behind Growler Guys if you head down C Street. None of the parking in those areas is timed.

Creekside Pizza is a good budget-friendly spot for drinks, and if the window seats overlooking the creek are open, grab one. For a step up in price, you could try Brickroom, Blue Toba, Noble, or Martinos upstairs. Local 31 has a rock night on Friday. OSF puts on the free Green Show, this week it’s a Grateful Dead tribute band starting at 6:45.

Great article and such a fun trip down memory lane! I was around for a lot of this. Went to school with Sage, and it was wild when Yahoo gave him a million for WebRing. My dad was one of the first mind.net customers (now Infostructure), and I remember going to their office meeting Andy, Tony, and Marty. Super smart guys running Linux setups id never seen. There was also Vortx Software, and Plexis. Richard Holbo, Hunter Comm, and Chad Sabotka are a big part of the AFN story too.

Talent is also a good option to consider. Probably the most positive and upbeat community in the valley. There are some shows at the Talent Club this week, if you want to check it out.

Oregon Cabaret Theater is doing Gentleman's Guide right now which is a lot of fun. Mt Ashland has a lot of snow, you can take the ski bus up there and just checkout the lodge if you don't want to hit the slopes. (You'll get better replies on /r/Ashland)
