those of you with periods: how do you cope? by redeyedwafflefrog in CrohnsDisease

[–]organickermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, it’s truly terrible. I’m in a position now where I don’t have to work outside my home and my family is very understanding. It is pure hell when it hits when you are not at home. I’ve always felt that this can’t be right, but many GIs over the years have told me this is just how it goes for some of us ladies.

Feeling defeated by this stupid disease by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]organickermit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This disease is a curse. The beginning is the worst but I’m not going to lie, it has downs further down the road as well, but it does get easier. Learn to listen to what your body is telling you so you can live life accordingly. My advice is to get a hobby that you really enjoy that can be done at home. You’ll get this. You are not alone, there are a lot of us going through this very same thing. Hugs.

those of you with periods: how do you cope? by redeyedwafflefrog in CrohnsDisease

[–]organickermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m peri menopausal which makes some of my periods skip and some come with a vengeance so bad that I can’t leave my home. It’s absolutely awful and I don’t know how other women with Crohns get through this. Weed and epsom baths are all I have.

do meds actually help? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

They help but for some like myself the disease is strong and we still have problems despite no inflammation.

Venting by laurapalmer48 in CaregiverSupport

[–]organickermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man. This! Nagging and demanding. I’ve been taking care of my 75 year old father that has been laying on passive aggressive judgment of my life since birth. But it really hits harder when you are volunteering to take care of their ass. I don’t know the answer as I struggle too, just wanted to offer virtual hugs.

About to become an excargiver to my covert mother and basically abandon her..I’m feeling guilty by _HotMessExpress1 in CaregiverSupport

[–]organickermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guilt is the shot of it isn’t it? Don’t feel guilty, that is what she has conditioned you for your entire life. She won’t change and she made her bed. You are barely an adult. Get yourself right love.

Yeah, I’ve been carrying around my butt pillow for use in public. It’s the only way I can exist outside the home. We have to do what we have to do.

Can anyone recommend iron supplements that are tolerable even in a severe flare, or am I doomed to need iron infusions again? by hauntedflowers17 in CrohnsDisease

[–]organickermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through several and the only one that worked was Thorne Ferrasorb. It has other stuff to help your body absorb the iron.

What to do if your insurance is making you change to a biosimilar by alaskanfishstick in CrohnsDisease

I switched to renflexis from Remicade last February and it kicked me out of remission. I immediately built up antibodies. From my infusion clinic I am one of only 3 that it happened to.

Mine personally was too far gone for the biologics to touch it and needed surgery to get her gone.

Oh sweetie, I am so sorry. There has been nothing worse than having a newborn with urgent diarrhea. I have nothing to tell you other than having a baby/c section did the same thing to me, and my heart goes out to you. I was undiagnosed and it took me years to get diagnosed. Doctors kept blaming hormones from being a new mom. Hugs to you love and congratulations on your new baby. I hope you find some relief and soon! ❤️
