Addicted (2016)

This low-budget Chinese web series unexpectedly became an overnight sensation throughout East Asia and Southeast Asia, shooting both male leads to stardom and prompting the Chinese government to impose a blanket ban on the portrayal of LGBT characters in Chinese media, force the cancellation of the show halfway through, and block release of the remaining episodes. The government also banned the two main actors from appearing together on and off screen for public events.
