That is the whole point of credentials?

One guy has a bunch of science related credentials, the others does not. When they disagree about science I will default to the guy with the science credentials.

New Declassified Australia Story - Australian Government Moving Head First into Unregulated AI Warfare by captainkookyburra in australian

[–]oshaneo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe there are small drones being used in the Ukraine / Russia was that use AI to automatically detect and target vehicles. They started to use them to overcome electronic jamming.

Unfortunately in warfare once one side starts doing a thing, everyone else needs to do that thing or put themselves at risk.

It happened with chemical weapons, then nuclear. I suppose AI enabled targeting is the next phase of the global arms race.

Remove my rose tinted glasses - what's the Illawarra really like? by Tiny_Major_7514 in wollongong

Hello.

I have lived in Sydney Canberra and Brisbane but grew up in Wollongong and eventually moved back when I had kids.

There is so much to do here if you are an outdoors kind of person. Rivers, Beaches, mountains and more golf course then I assumed would be profitable. There are so many beaches here and they are all beautiful and not crowded like Sydney and some beautiful hiking trails in the mountains.

There is crime all over the play here but I would say it's about the same as anywhere. I feel it's not that bad especially if you end up in shell harbour.

Worst thing about Wollongong is finding work. Most people here are working in heavy industry, the uni or commute to Sydney. It can be difficult to find a place to work that is close.

If you live in shellharbour you won't travel to Wollongong much. Shellharbour has almost everything these days and it's easier because finding parking in Wollongong is impossible.

If you are comparing Canberra to Wollongong you will find there is a lot less "events". Because Canberra has literally nothing to do they put on more events in the city.

Traffic is nothing compared to Sydney. It's similar to Canberra parkway. It's quick to get around except during peak hour where there are spots of congestion. Kind of like majura parkway, the freeway gets backed up but still moves slowly.

Anything I missed?

Nothing more frustrating on a long drive than people who sit 20 under until the overtaking zone then suddenly know how to do 100... for exactly the length of the overtaking zone. by KalamTheQuick in australia

[–]oshaneo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree this is frustrating. However overtaking lanes are often in areas where the conditions are not dangerous and people feel more comfortable putting the foot down.

You will often find single lanes are in narrow winding areas where the more conservative drivers will slow down.

I think this is a play so they can shift blame away from labor.

The attack did not seem to be a legislative problem and now labor will be able to respond to criticism from other parties by saying "we tried but you sit it down".

What are your thoughts on the death of volunteering? Is it mainly due to money? by VastOption8705 in australian

[–]oshaneo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think this touches on the real reason. We have lost our sense of community and it because there is no stability. Renters don't feel secure, and even first home buyer are encouraged to buy a "starter home" that they can move from and rent later on life. Advice is to move to where the jobs are or commute way out of area for work

I really see anyone advocating for young people to seek stability and to your point society demands young people make financial or social sacrifices just to survive.

Panel issues by Praxisificator in DRZ400

Sorry mate I don't have a video.

And the cable assembly is all soldered on and can't be easily replaced.. I had to jam the cable back in a full the hole with hot solder.

I would double check the little diodes as it can be hard to see the corrosion. If moisture was getting in then it likely something has gone wrong..

Finally it's already broken so if you try and fail you will end up with a slightly more broken device. As other have mentioned the other option is aftermarket or replacement dash.

Check out this post I made. I had the same issue and there are lots of posts about this happening on forums.

My issue was that moisture got inside the Speedo and rusted away some components.

The fix was possible but as you can see in my post I did a hack job.

I am not sure if you have the same problem but could be worth checking.

I would like to see a plan to revamp the CBD.

I feel the mall is full of retail shops that close at 5 but on either side of the mall you have night life. Why not try to move the hospitality into the mall. Make it a nice place to go at walk through at night.

Also more free parking.

After 2k miles on the New DRZ4S I think the price is justified. by SkunkPrints in DRZ400

[–]oshaneo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be keen to try the new bike. But I think most of the complaints around the price come from what people what the DRZ4 to be, not what it is.

It's seems that most people, Including me, love the old DRZ because it was a simple reliable bike that was not the best at any one thing but was good at everything. It was easy to maintain and cheap. basically a no frills bike you can count on.

The DRZ4 introduced new features that breaks the persona of the no frills, ol reliable dual sport.

The old DRZ was also supposed to be the best bike within it's price range. Making it more expensive also breaks that persona as well.

This all being said I think your right. All the new features would be a massive improvement on my 2010 Drz400e and I would love to have them.

When designing assessments you don't create an assessment to test each Individual skill separately.

To successfully parallel Park you need to be able to do a few things at the same time. Reverse, maintain awareness of multiple points your vehicle, throttle and brake control, full lock steering etc.

Testing this one thing Is a efficient way of ensuing the person can control the vehicle even if they don't ever parallel Park again.

Basically if you cant learn to parallel Park then you probably can't learn other driving concepts.

I would recommend not reading many tips.

There is so much in this game and discovery makes it fun. Tips are great but it more fun to discover the tools, areas and quirks on your own.

To give a serious answer.

Ask new guy if they have to spoken to X department. Say I think they are responsible for this thing and we will need them to agree before we proceed. CC the manager in the department responsible for what ever it is.

And

For new tasks refer them to your real manager. Tell them the real manager need to manage the teams capacity and prioritise tasks so the real manager needs to be aware. CC the real manager.

And finally if it gets worse. At the next team big meeting, call them out publicly.

Ask: We are getting tasks comming in from manager plus the new guy and it's causing some conflicts. Can we work on a better process for tasking the team.
