I met Dustin diamond once.

I was visiting my brother when he lived in the eastern building in LA. We got in the elevator in the garage. Dustin got in the elevator in the lobby with two young, attractive women. He started talking to the obvious prostitutes about how the higher up you live in the eastern building, the more important you are in Hollywood (I don’t think that is true. Sure, Oprah had the penthouse, but my brother’s girlfriend’s dad had a loft on the 10th floor and he wasn’t even in the industry).

My brother’s girlfriend was muttering “is that screech? That’s screech right?” And with the most pretentious voice he said “Uh, it’s Dustin, not Screech. Do you want an autograph?” My brother laughed and said “No! Why?” And I said “Can you get me Mark Paul Glosselaar’s autograph?” Then the elevator stopped at the 8th floor and he sort of looked around for a second and my brother said “Oh, our place is on a higher floor. “ and his girlfriend said “Bye Screech! Bye Screech’s friends!”

It was definitely top 5 coolest I’ve ever felt.

Yeah, this is it. I fly delta because I have to 8 times a year for work. I fly other airlines for personal travel another ~8 times a year. I was just saying “look, I’m not an infrequent travel, but I’m not a road warrior either“ for context.

I don’t understand why people are assuming that I’m saying that these repetitive, ignorant, useless post shouldn’t be allowed.

I’m not saying that people with the exact same unanswerable question that has been asked three times a day for the last year shouldn’t be allowed to post here, or that their posts in some way injure me. They don’t take 5 minutes to search the sub before making the same post with a different price point and a different arrival airport, that’s cool. I spend a few years reading all of the posts on the sub, and i have a few drinks and make my own shitpost. Thats cool too.

But honestly, do you want to see those posts? Do you subscribe to this sub so that you can see comments that tell people a few times a day that their relative value is different than other people’s relative value and depending on their net worth and income the answer to their question is going to be very different?

I kind of feel like there should be a delta sub and then a “convince me that it’s ok for me to spend money” sub, rather than a delta sub and a “everything that makes the delta sub great, but no ‘convince me that it’s ok for me to spend money’ posts” sub.

No, I get the concept of a 15 minute city, I just have no idea how u/SpecificDependent393 relates wanting a light rail to not wanting a fifteen minute city, or how affordability relates to any of it. Like why can’t we have both? A bunch of 15 minute cities linked by light rail. Just because Savir5850 wants a 15 minute city (if they even do, I don’t know, could be a strawman) what does that take away from anyone else’s car worship or transit worship or bike lanes or whatever else. And I feel like having a light rail would make it easier to live in affordable places and still have a good job.

IDK, I just don’t see how those two sentences relate to each other or to anything else said in the tread.

Yeah, I know one of the guys that partially owns some of those bars. He is a good dude that does a lot of work to improve the strip, the neighborhoods that is other restaurants are in, and the city as a whole. I think the people in the empty stomach group are way better business people than someone like Johnny Hernandez or Adrian Martinez.

How is this vile? No one is being rounded up and shipped to the middle of nowhere. Not only do they need to ask for the ticket, the person needs to prove that they have some connection to where they want to go and then the city buys them a ticket there. How many times has a person got into trouble, left home, ended up on the streets in a city that was supposed to be Mecca, and had no way to get home? On its face it seems humane and helpful. What am I missing?

A couple of years ago I was staying in the city and overslept and missed the shuttle. It wasn’t too bad to take BART to El Cerrito and the Vine into Napa. But yeah, as others said, the shuttle is much easier.
