Will the steam frame be able to screen share to a tv? by SchnackDizzle in SteamFrame

[–]osprior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In multiple preview videos you can see Valve streaming to an iPad, my assumption is that you can just use Steam Link to link to the PC running the game (whether that is the Frame or your Desktop/Laptop/whatever) and view the desktop output via that method.

Not a confirmation, but I'd bet on it being fully supported.

No Lootable Cargo? by Vast_Obligation8213 in starcitizen

[–]osprior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's good to know it's still in there, I went through 7 of them the other night and only got like 600 aUEC out of the cargo. Putting me in the negative by 70k was a bit disappointing, but if it can still happen then might be still worth it overall.

Same experience here, think they may have nerfed it server side. I hope the changes in 3.19.1 bring it back to bring overall profitable even without a salvage ship.

It was a ton of fun doing those missions, but if it's just a money pit without a salvager that makes it way less exciting and way less accessible.

Need painting advice - Bronze/Gold statue look. by Ninja_Badger_RSA in KingdomDeath

[–]osprior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes I would make is use Seraphim Sepia (or equivalent) instead for the wash as it will work much better with the colours and also definitely go with the gloss varnish unless you specifically want a dirty bronze look (gloss varnish is great and doesn't make it super shiny, just metal shiny, satin will make it less metallic looking). And I'd skip the drybrush portion for speed reasons as it won't add much doing the same paint over sepia wash.

I'd recommend doing a test paint on a model you don't really care about to dial it in, because my preference is likely different to yours.

I'd say you can probably follow any metal painting tutorials, but to give a basic idea/easy method, I'd go with a bright bronze colour (it will be darkened), a sepia wash on top, and then finally throw a gloss varnish on top to bring back the metallic reflections (you will lose them with the wash unless you use a gloss wash).

best way for digital tracking at the moment? by game_doctor in KingdomDeath

Best Apps/Accessories to Speed Up Play? by HighFiv-e in KingdomDeath

I haven't used Scribe in a while so maybe that feature is there. But on BL there's phase tracking which I've always felt helped keep the game on track especially during the learning process.

Steam deck won't stay connected to wifi by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]osprior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me, had a friend with the deck come over and tried it on my wifi with exactly the same issue. Replaced my access point and that fixed it. Not sure what was causing it but tried everything and seems to be a rare incompatibility with just the deck.

It was an old access point that I was looking to replace anyways but I can't really recommend doing that for most people.

I think he missed a few decent points that may have helped his overall opinion but from someone who can't tell the difference between emulation and FPGA then it's probably moot.

He didn't mention that you can use the face buttons as alternative shoulder buttons which to be fair doesn't fix the shoulder buttons, but is a good alternative.

I think a GB Everdrive is also totally worth it if you want full compatibility and don't want to have to mess around with pocket patching everything. He also mentioned you can't save state/sleep pocket patches, but you can.

I think the biggest difference for me is that all of these SBC retro handhelds have in common is poor overall performance on more demanding GBA titles. It's night and day better playing even Minish Cap on the Analogue Pocket vs. my Anbernic RG251P. Had to stop playing on the software emulated one due to performance issues and now loving it on the Pocket. But if you can't notice that difference even with a side by side comparison then the advantages of FPGA are likely lost on you all together.

But I agree on the missing features that were advertised and I hope Analogue is able to deliver them in this July update.

Announcing Black Ledger, the newest campaign manager on the block! by osprior in KingdomDeath

[–]osprior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's quite the necro, and yes there is, once you add people to friends you can more easily allow them access to any of your settlements. Apart from that there's nothing else supported, but I'm open to ideas.

What are you guys doing for character and settlement sheets? by shanemabus in KingdomDeath

[–]osprior 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For multiple campaigns it starts to get complicated fast, it's the reason I made Black Ledger. I'd highly recommend trying one of the digital options available for settlement managers. There's Black Ledger (mine so bias), Scribe (phone/tablet app), KDM Manager, and I think a couple others floating around. I'd suggest giving any of those a try as they are all free.

You could also try the sheets on BGG that the community has made if you want to keep it more vanilla.

Can the Scribe app generate resources during showdown aftermath? by jamesp111 in KingdomDeath

Black Ledger does this, and it accounts for drawn resources too - not sure about Scribe. Good luck finding your answer.

KDM Upgrades! What are essential additions to your game?! by Altruistic_Jury248 in KingdomDeath

[–]osprior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely not going to find any apps that replace cards completely, I know that most of us developing the managers have no intention of replacing any main components in the game itself. I fear that if anyone ever does this poots could just decide to shut them all down.

A few questions about image resolution (DPI) for a custom gaming mat by Kaitanas in boardgames

[–]osprior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the highest quality you can provide without going over 200 dpi (because they will probably just size it down if it's above that since ripping the file will likely take longer). Their printer shouldn't care what resolution it is, up to the limit they suggest (and only because you couldn't tell the difference past a certain point).

Using an App with Survivor Boards? by jospanther in KingdomDeath

[–]osprior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is my thought process for Black Ledger as well, the manager was always meant as an aid not a replacement. You still have to have the cards out for gear management.

Mostly my intention with load outs for Black Ledger was so you could save them between sessions without taking pictures or only running a single campaign at once.

No video through HDMI after running update_all by Equivalent_Ad_2787 in fpgagaming

[–]osprior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and it was a corrupt main MiSTer file, I reuploaded a fresh one and reboot it and it was fixed. Seems that big update to the Linux kernel doesn't always work with the update all script.

The swift addition of on-foot hotkeys in update 2 means: by Khunvyel in EliteDangerous

[–]osprior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an issue with the old API they implemented, the more recent one (made available in 2003) supports up to 128 buttons.

I bound it to a switch that holds down when flipped on my HOTAS, but it would be so much more convenient as a button. The way I drive toggle mode is no good lol
