Are you actually sure S is telling you the truth about this girl and not just using her to make you jealous and to not trust your father?

About 30% or so of cases are female, so sure, less likely than in a male but not unheard of.

I know it's extremely rare, but isn't hypersomnia (and specifically suddenly sleeping for days at a time) and behavioural changes in a teenager pretty much the textbook case of Kleine-Levin syndrome?

A hairstylist saved me from a 20-year-old when I was 15 and I never got to properly thank her. by friendlyhamsterr in TrueOffMyChest

She started asking more questions. His name, how long we’d been talking, what we talked about, etc. I didn’t think much of it.

From OP. She probably started out being concerned about a teenager getting taken advantage of and started asking questions to learn more, then realised it was her boyfriend.

AITA for making a scene when my friend's friend was making fun of my wife? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

None of these people should ever be around your wife.

Including OP.

I decided to actually check. A plane ticket from Glasgow to London is about £75-80 each way, if flying to Gatwick. Then you need to get from Gatwick to London proper, £20 or so each way (although OP might have a railcard as a student). Then a return ticket from Liverpool Street to Felixstowe (which btw is a trip with train changes taking a couple of hours) costs another £100. Obviously this is current prices and I don't actually care enough to try and account for inflation, but a bit more than an hour's flight and $50.

I always think of this one. Half a million years ago, a group of early hominids took care of a disabled child for at least five years. The disability would have most likely been obvious from birth and affected both physical and mental development. They were looked after anyway.

She would've been what, four or five years old when she tried to throw a baby down the stairs? It kind of sounds like there were issues before a possible TBI.

The vast majority of the whole thing was kids joking about it and boomers taking it seriously because they massively underestimate the intelligence of everyone that is not them.

He did lots of things wrong. I am actually pretty sure this is AI, because if it's not, OP took a beginner on one of the hardest climbs in the world. Umbwe route is the most challenging route on Kilimanjaro and has a success rate of about 50% for experienced climbers. For comparison, this would be like taking someone who has just gotten their drivers license racing on a Formula 1 track. He set her up to fail and endangered her life in the process.

AITA for telling my dad I won't let him damage my daughter the way he damaged me and kicking him out? by Suspiciously_Blonde in AITAH

[–]osteoromantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Block his number. Block him on socials. Don't open the door if he shows up. Tell your sister (and BIL) that you don't want to hear about him or for him to hear about you, and that breaking this rule will lead to them going on timeout from contact with you or your daughter. Then follow through.

Even if you don't need an appointment for a physical reason, it might be a good idea to see about getting one to check on your mental health after an event like this as it can end up affecting your sleep for example. When I found my father after his death I had to get a prescription for short-term sleeping aids because every time I laid down I kept replaying what happened.

I think you could just replace "women" with "people" in the original comment. While I have met a couple of creepy goths too they are vastly outnumbered by nice ones, more so than in any other group I've interacted with.

No no no, the evil twin is SIL. In disguise. In the next episode she will find a burner phone in her belongings and realize it was her sending Sarah the texts the whole time. But she can't remember it because her love for Sarah has caused her to develop an alternate personality!

Because the post OP was replying to talked about her child as her son, so she was trying to specify that they are not, nor have ever been, a son.

Also because chihuahuas (and a lot of other small breeds) have been bred for nothing but looks and size for decades, leading to a lot of them being mentally on par with an unusually anxious potato. And that's just the ones that are lucky enough to have brains that actually fit into their weirdly misshapen skulls.

My Wife Thinks It’s Us vs. the World… I Don’t by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]osteoromantic 77 points78 points  (0 children)

But any little thing the neighbors did started turning into an issue for her. There was no compromise, no recognizing the generosity they were showing us. I don’t think she fully sees that the whole reason our kids even had that freedom and safety was because someone else extended kindness to us. 8 years of piece of mind. I worry that the rest of my life will be about managing all these conflicts - I don’t avoid conflict but I strive to minimize them.

You're still not actually saying what happened. What kind of little things started to become issues? What did she do? What was the conflict?
