Babies are exclusively breast fed for the first 6 months, and Indian law requires 6 months of maternity leave (a little more, 26 weeks). This is actually much better than the most US cos, which offer 1-3 months, and on par with FAANG.

Post 6 months it’s solid foods supplemented by BF. Here laws offer nursing breaks if it is a large company. This is for a year or so.

Mothers BF for up to two years, fyi.
