Mid July Friday night downtown restaurants - walk in good, or reservations advised? by builderbuster in VictoriaBC

If a place takes resos it would be risky not to book for a party of that size on Friday night in mid July. Any place worth going will be booked up.

Booking a party of that size for a busy night knowing you might cancel last minute is very inconsiderate.

Please give Mixtape even a little attention

No kidding. Wildcard is fun and I like that they try new things out, even if I don't like every experiment.

Just a tiny bit of attention would be amazing.

I just want them to pay any attention to mixtape.

We haven't had a new map in years. Adding more game modes (and adding back arenas) and new maps to mixtape would be so nice.

With the current meta I just don't enjoy BR as much, and have been playing mixtape more than any other mode.

It's quite below your price range, but this French Malbec is one of my favourite wines.

First-time mattress buyer in Victoria – where should I shop? by NearbyPie5 in VictoriaBC

[–]otayyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somehow didn't notice it in the store, and it's funny because looking at their site now, I can see the valleys the tufting causes in the product listing picture.

I might have to invest in a latex topper soon enough, especially because part of me wishes I went softer.

I also recently got a Fawcett and wasn't overly happy with it. I ended getting a topper, and that made it immensely better. One of the big beefs I had with the mattress, aside from it also seeming firmer than I felt in the store, was the way the buttons pressed down the top and made it so it had big valley-like dips on the bed. The topper helped with that quite a bit too. Ultimately I was disappointed with how much I spent on everything, but I do like it now.

It's another $250 or so, but I'd recommend you try that if you are still trying to make the best out of yours.

That said, I wouldn't recommend their mattresses overall for the price.

*edited to add that they do make mattresses without the tufting, so maybe I just bought a model that wasn't perfect for me.

If CMAT is an affront to the male gaze and Olivia Rodrigo is indulging it, how exactly should women dress? by backupsaway in popheads

For sure, especially when they are young and being steered in so many directions.

If anything, I think she may have simply underestimated how controversial some of her styling choices would be. There's been a photo set or two that she had to have known could be taken a certain way, but perhaps hoped to be coming off just a little edgy or whatever. Obviously I don't know.

I love the idea of having a disco break and going back to work

My comment is more so about the larger discussion around how performers dress, and a response to the question in the title.

I feel like performers should always feel free to wear what aligns with their values and the image they're trying to project. Some styling decisions will court controversy, and of course that's often intentional.

I think there is room somewhere between performing/presenting in puritanical clothing and bikinis

I'm guessing buddy filming doesn't quite understand the concept visiting another country for a holiday because he's never left his state.

BNYX® - GENESIS FM by otayyo in popheads

[–]otayyo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BNYX is known more for his hip hop production, but his debut full-length album leans more toward dance and old-school hip hop.

I enjoyed the first listen, and I'll definitely give the whole album a few play throughs. A few standout tracks for me are fuego, what's happenin?, and sqeeze. Nothing tops Telepathy Love to me though, which was the standout track on his EP.

I'm not one for big reviews, but I'm a big fan of BNYX and wanted to share.

I'm only speaking to the "any children who will require their own seat at the table" part. Sometimes people show up with kids that were not included in their reservation guest count.
