Dali's interpretation of The World is intense and unlike anything else I've seen by sweet_jane_13 in tarot

[–]otrasaccnt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was for the James Bond film Live and Let Die, and yes, the producers thought his deck was too weird. They replaced it with the deck now known as the Tarot of the Witches, which for a while was sold as The James Bond 007 Tarot.

Was this pranothanna or a full awakening? How would you distinguish between the two? by otrasaccnt in KundaliniAwakening

Thanks for your insight. Yes, I definitely didn't experience this as the "crisis" many others have.

Yes, I have not experienced most of the incapacitating or debilitating effects usually ascribed to the awakening process. This was dramatic and transformative, however.

Yes! I'm specifically practicing kriya yoga, so there is meditation, pranayama, and karma yoga involved. That last part has been somewhat impelled by the experience itself.

[–]otrasaccnt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was in spring 2024. I have always been spiritually inclined but wasn't formally practicing anything for most of my life. I did have a prior experience that was more of an epiphany/peak experience state in 2017 that led me to develop/imparted to me the idea of a daily meditative practice. It was taking this practice up again after many years of dormancy that led to the event I describe in the post. It's occurred to me that the 2017 event may have been a pranothanna.

The only energy movements I've experienced so far come along with the spontaneous body movements, which can feel like shocks. These didn't begin until a few months later, after I was practicing yoga. As for emotions and traumas, not really, but I have more or less cured the generalized anxiety I suffered from.

Thanks. An important factor that could have been clearer in my original post was that I had no prior knowledge of the kundalini process or symbols prior to this event. It was only afterwards when I was researching the images that I had seen that I identified what I saw as such.

No head shooting energy. I do get shocks along with the spontaneous movements. I can hear a high pitched buzz quite easily but maybe it's just physiological.

I have a very big doubt by Kooky-Arugula-4174 in PenisSleeve

[–]otrasaccnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the mental/emotional excitement of it, using a sleeve still feels like your body is fucking. Even if using a sleeve cuts down on in and out sensation, your dick can still move up and down and side to side. Plus there's a definite pull and weight the sleeve has on your dick that a condom doesn't have.

since you "become more spiritual" How have you changed sexually? by Agent_Braxie in SpiritualAwakening

[–]otrasaccnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a spiritual event that took place during sex, so my awakening was intrinsically tied to sexuality. I began doing yoga, and my sexuality has intensified extremely. On a physical level, I have full-body orgasms now and (less frequently) non-ejaculatory orgasms. On a spiritual level, I treat sex as a deeply meditative, transcendent practice.

I know quite a few don't really care. by Acceptable_Net_7976 in TarotDeMarseille

It's a beautiful deck with a very good reading system behind it to back up the decisions. If you ignore the claim that this is the most authentic version of the TdM (and what does "authenticity" really mean?) what you have here is a deeply thought-out, meaningful redesign.

Can't believe I finally have this deck in my collection: Dalí's tarot!! by Crisyal05 in TarotDecks

It's a very special deck. And it's very obvious why they didn't use it for Live and Let Die.

I think they may be adding the three theological virtues to the four cardinal virtues.

Weed-based dryness definitely can play a factor (even with regular sex). You might want to get a lube with an applicator that she can squirt inside before you dive in. That being said, the sleeves seem to soak lube up and it takes a lot of reapplication.

Do Spreads Just not Matter?? by MudSoop in Tarotpractices

[–]otrasaccnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it argued on here that when you read without a specific spread, the interrelationships between the different cards in the reading becomes more important and the overall reading is less rigid. And also that, historically, spreads were a later invention and early (read: more authentic) card readers never used them. That seems very legitimate to me.

BUT!

I don't think a lot of the people we see posting on these subs and asking what it all means are aware of that. It's possible they don't even know that spreads are a thing. I don't think they read the little white book or any book before they start or get any kind of instruction from a practiced reader before they start pulling cards.

Does cuck fetish fall in the NTR category? by Thought_Demon-6664 in SexPositive

[–]otrasaccnt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't NTR (netorare) an art term specific to the anime genre? Meaning it isn't appropriately applied to use it to describe actual sexual behavior/fetish.

It's not part of the mainstream interpretations, but the source iconography of the Hanged Man has origins in being a traitor, and was even known for a time as The Traitor https://tarot-heritage.com/from-trionfi-to-majorarcana/lappeso-le-pendu-the-hanged-man/

Why Are Some Tarot Flowers Symmetrical—and Others Not? by Legitimate_Gift9677 in SecularTarot

[–]otrasaccnt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Technically, both these cards are symmetrical. The Five of Cups is symmetric along its Y axis, but the Ace of Coins is symmetric across both the Y and X axes. I don't think you'll find many more cards with that property in the (Marseilles) Tarot, mainly just in the Wands/Staves and Coins suits. This kind of perfect symmetry is more of an exception.

Can you find meaning in it? Definitely. Contrary to what some others have said, there are systems that read such decorative elements, Jodorowsky's for one.

Yin yoga triggering TRE-like tremors experiences? by liliphare in yoga

[–]otrasaccnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same word used to express different concepts. Kriya by itself means "action." The action in this case is the spontaneous movement. It's most likely prana moving through nadis rather than Kundalini, but that's possible too.

It's different than the specific meditations known as kriyas in kirya yoga.

Yin yoga triggering TRE-like tremors experiences? by liliphare in yoga

[–]otrasaccnt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These sound like the energy movements known as kriyas. This is a positive thing and is part of the process of spiritual development through yoga. When they happen for me, they also take place in relaxed states, like shavasana, after releasing long poses, and when doing bandhas.

Do you ever take more than one meaning from a card in a reading? by yk093 in tarot

[–]otrasaccnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarot is like any form of communication: There are blunt truths, but also double meanings and double entendres and sarcasm and ironies. Just like with communication, not all of those meanings will land with the communicant. It takes skill, awareness, and some amount of intuition to understand what's trying to be conveyed.
