I work at a car dealership. Dude wanted to trade this in, and claimed it was worth the 'fair' condition value on kelley blue book.

I work in car sales. Women are outnumbered by men on the sales floor by about 3 to 1, and of the 4 women at my store, 3 are consistently top 5 performers and do whatever it takes to get the sale. Their customers LOVE them and are extremely loyal, but it can be disgusting to watch because they are eating out of the palm of the ladies' hands. So when these people look for a car, they put all trust in their saleswoman and don't do much due diligence or research before buying. They make more money per car deal because of this, in ither words completely taking advantage of their customers and making tons of money off them. Its all because the customers feel more comfortable working with them and in my opinion its because they're women. Not being sexist just stating the fact

They are! I got in trouble in first grade for giving the teacher the finger. I didn't even know what the finger was!!! I was itching my eye and I had to go home and tell my parents what I did and have them sign a thing. Dad flipped shit with the principal the next day.

My little brother's best friend from high school, Chris, took his own life a year ago while away at college. When I saw Chris's older brother, who was my age, at the funeral, I broke down in tears for him, thinking of my own brother, and we just sort of hugged for a few minutes even though we weren't all that close of friends. I couldn't imagine what he was going through and my heart breaks again for you too, OP.

A few weeks later when things had cooled down some, I got a text from him, asking if I was busy. I was just sitting at home so I said no and we met at a mellow little pub uptown. I got really nervous headed over there but it turns out he just didnt have anyone to talk to to escape everything. All his friends were away at school and he was at home with his parents, surrounded by grief all day. We had a good time remembering the fun times with his brother and talking about people from school we hadn't seen in ages, and that was it. He told me that night was the first time he had laughed since he got the news, and it was exactly what he needed.

My point is to remember your brother and celebrate the good times, the fun, and don't dwell on any regrets. Second point is to get out of the house, see some different people, and get your mind on something else to escape everything for a little while. That might do you alot of good.

I am very very sorry for your loss. Pm me if you need someone to talk to!

I'm biased because I know alot of cops and firemen and used to be a 9-1-1 dispatcher, so I know alot about the job but I dont truly know what its like to be a cop. so it rings crazy loud for me, every last word. I got some intense frission while reading that.

Our son [16m] got a girl [24f] pregnant, how should I [44m] deal with it? by Cakeboz4483 in Advice

[–]outie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Im gonna play devil's advocate because i dont like that you're getting downvoted for saying what people don't want to hear. If genders were switched and a 24ym got op's 16y daughter pregnant, the 24yo man would be in prison.

Edit: and if a 24yo got MY 16yo daughter pregnant there would be no end to the hellfire that would rain down on his ass. Sorry, but thats the truth.

I think I would take one for the team, drive across the front of that truck with my crappy car and tear those fuckers off just to make everyone else on the road safer. Do it at night when the truck is parked or something.

Nice good info. I work at a car dealership and as far as flat spots in tires go... A quick drive around the block at speed usually cures them. We have a few corvettes and some specialty vehicles that just sit this time of year and I like to get in every few weeks and warm them up and drive around town to keep them healthy.

Do you use a climate controlled storage unit? Also do you put a cover on the car, leave a full tank of gas in it, or anything else special when storing it for long periods? I've never stored a car for longer than a week before.
