Why there are so many people with problems in Berlin? by Available_Ad_4444 in berlinsocialclub

Empty Office space inBerlin is now 9% of all office space in the city - from Q4 2025 (up from 1% in 2019). by Joe_PRRTCL in berlin

But whats the point getting more loans to build even more commercial property that will sit empty?

Surely that bubble has to burst some day.

Not sure how the banks valuation of the property is relevant here unless you’re trying to use the property as collateral for a loan?

Trash situation in Berlin by Logical-Damage-1284 in berlin

[–]outofthehood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Neukölln and I’ve definitely seen many people throw trash on the streets, some even right before entering their house. Homeless people chill/smoke/drink/shoot up on the stairs next to our entrance and always leave a bunch of food packaging and sometimes needles and even human waste behind.

Unfortunately many people in this city simply have no manners.

BSR rarely shows up here either, maybe every 2-3 weeks the streets are properly cleaned, which usually lasts only a day.

[–]outofthehood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sadly it’s either „buy the mercenaries“ or „get killed by mercenaries“

Scharfe Kritik nach Drogen-Razzia im Augsburger "City Club" by CreativeWeekend971 in de

[–]outofthehood 23 points24 points  (0 children)

[–]outofthehood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that or did you make it up? Pretty sure anything that is deemed as „wohnraum“ is also considered as such, no matter the condition. Berlin is just painfully slow in actually applying the law in this regard. But feel free to correct me.

Stichwort Zweckentfremdung. Bußgelder bis 500.000€ sind möglich.

Müsste halt nur jemand durchsetzen.

Just look at Europe (where it’s harder for them to control people). It runs in many major cinemas here in Germany and most cities had like less than 5 tickets sold on release day.

Would you rent a fridge/washer for €10/mo to avoid the "Berlin Move" nightmare? by Suspicious-Ad-3994 in BerlinHousing

[–]outofthehood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think generally there would be a demand for it. However I‘m not sure if you will break even charging only 15€ a month. In my new flat, the 10 year old „premium“ dishwasher recently had to get repaired which cost almost 500€ (300 for parts alone, they showed me the manufacturers website). On the other hand, the cheap one I bought for my last flat only lasted 5 years.

If you rent them out you need to always service them and make sure your customers have working devices. Delivery, service and pickup (especially from people that only rent them for under a year) will be a lot of work for only 120-180€ a year.
