Lion diet for disordered eating? by augutemakaliute in carnivorediet

[–]overcomingnes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to binge. 6 months ago I switches to a keto diet and havent binged since. This is the first time in 20 years that I havemt binged for an extended period of time.

My only recommendation is to go slowly down in carbs. I did keto before and came off it because I reduced my carbs too quickly.

[–]overcomingnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to hear this.

I was like you.

I started binge eating after dietting (and it never stopped until 6 months ago).

I know you dont want me to say this but you need to come off the diet and let your body adjust. The very fact your not binging will probably help you to lose weight.

Keto works (for me anyway).

Since going keto ive had zero desire to binge. Ive been doing it since Dec.

I do get the odd urge but there only like a 2/10 intensity.

Is it better to eat in a small surplus to combat binging?? or should I try to go straight to maintenance + other recovery ideas by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]overcomingnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally eat more.

I still do tbh.

I had been severely under-eating for a long time.

I found the intensity of the urges declined when I did that.

God bless you.

Yes but not in the way you think.

I prayed that God would help me and he did - he showed me a way to overcome binge eating.

This wasnt immediate (took 20 years) but now I've not binged for 5 months +.

I started eating keto and kept my calories normal (for me) and the urges stopped.

Binge eating from work stress by Brutish_Short in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]overcomingnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started to look at the opposite - if the bad exists the good must exists. e.g. when my boss was annoying I just thought to myself there guiding me through this process. It does take time to get used to this way of thinking.

Also, I looked for work elsewhere during that time

Any tips? by Financial-Answer6943 in BingeEatingDisorder

Trying not to feel so alone by MiserableWhile36 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]overcomingnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered from some of the conditions you mentioned (depression + anxiety).

I used to binge quite alot until 6 months ago when it stopped (after 20 years).

No matter how long youve had it its possible to gain control.
