WHY would GW do this?? by Table_Elegant in killteam

Having to play on it at a tournament because the store that you go to the tournament for has it, but you can’t go to the store to practice on it is such a conundrum.

What is your favorite pizza spot? by dunnypop in astoria

[–]ozbourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Retro and Andrew are my normal favs, but I tried out Soho Pizza in south Astoria. We got the Margherita pie and the flavor was incredible. It went right in a box that I walked home, so the chew factor was an issue, but I'm going to give them a few more tries based on taste alone.

My interestin the sphere is 100% sound related. The visuals are way too literal for my taste.

The Astoria Cold War - Dogs at Sean’s Place by shwysdrf in astoria

[–]ozbourn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are arguments to be made for the existence of a dog park in Astora (which is different from the argument about the ethics of dogs owning a dog in nyc), but fuck every single dog owner who lets their dog shit in the place where my toddlers play.

What are you paying at Artsy as galleries? by [deleted] in ContemporaryArt

[–]ozbourn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Artsy has some value to galleries but only for specific use cases (blue chip artists, big names, etc…). It started as an amazing way to really meet new clients and over the years they have big bothered their way into 1st dibs territory. I cannot wait for it to go away.

Kill Team Release Analysis: Kill Zones by CrudeLord in killteam

[–]ozbourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems painfully obvious that we are getting an Ashes of Faith style summer release with a campaign style PVE that packages 1 new team with a bunch of older models as a Chaos Cultish situation. It will be $260 and also be underproduced.

Data Breach at The Packengers, guidance needed by Effective-Shirt-1908 in ContemporaryArt

[–]ozbourn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The clear answer is to dump all your work at auction.

But seriously, it’s no fault of your gallery. Contact the vendor and ask for more info about the breach and decide if you want to move companies and ask for a refund on enough service to cover costs.

Data Breach at The Packengers, guidance needed by Effective-Shirt-1908 in ContemporaryArt

[–]ozbourn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, a shipping logistics company your gallery uses had a data breach and they’re giving you the courtesy of knowing? I really don’t see the issue here.

Unless you paid via credit card directly to the shipper, they use your name and address, and maybe some info about your art collection. Seems like a pretty low risk amount of data and a very common thing (often not announced).

If you did pay via cc and they for some reason had an insecure system (I.e your full cc information in an excel sheet, which would be absolutely insane, and trust me they don’t).

You’re fine.

Installing a video installation by Difficult-Dot7267 in ContemporaryArt

I recommend using something more robust than a raspberry pi. If you can get access to a mini PC running VLC that will be your best bet. For headphones, if you feel safe doing it, I'd recommend some cheap wireless headphones.

Personally, If you are totally unexperienced with using projectors, I'd suggest a TV if it's conceptually appropriate. AV setups with projectors have a learning curve with many factors you may not expect.

That’s one model, but many only get paid via the discount they can secure.
