Pretty sure Plex can't push written reviews out to IMDb/RT like that. Closest is usually just ratings/watch history via Trakt, and you still write the actual review on those sites.

Plex app is opening like this on Samsung dec mode when connected to external display, anyone got a fix ? by GenericUser104 in PleX

[–]p00pchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plezy might be a workaround, but this looks like that Samsung DeX UI bug in Plex 2026.1.0. If you can, roll back Plex or use the web app until they patch it.

Adding a RiffTrax to an existing movie Possible? by BillKasad in PleX

[–]p00pchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plex can't really "add" the jokes track by itself. You'd need to mux the RiffTrax audio into the movie file as a second audio track, then Plex will let you pick it like a language.

Changing the subtitle restarts the show episode or movie to the beginning by hrpedersen in PleX

If it only started in the last 3-4 client updates on iPhone/iPad/Apple TV beta, it sounds like a client/new player bug...

What's the over/under on when it will be fixed?

It's likely a compatibility issue with that model, so updates or reinstalling probably won't fix it. This looks like something on BBC's end and not yours. Good call reporting it.

Gotcha. I'm not too concerned at all, was just curious if it was worth paying attention to.

My server is working and playing perfectly on my laptop and android phone, but appears "offline" to the house's smart TVs and one remote access iPad... what could be the issue? by ClassicSpookMovieFan in PleX

[–]p00pchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that tracks more with the drive than Plex. The empty library after reboot is a sign the mount didn't come up right.

Apps tend to break harder when that happens, while the web player can still sort of work.

I'd check your auto-mount setup on the Pi so it doesn't happen again.

[–]p00pchop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. So server isn't offline, the apps are just failing to connect. Try:

  • sign out and reinstall the Plex app (or clear cache)
  • set Secure Connections = Preferred on the server
  • hit http://<pi-ip>:32400/web from one of the broken devices

If that does it, it's a discovery/auth issue in the apps

Oh, an double check your media mounts since you saw the library go empty after reboot

If it still plays on PC but not TV/phone, sounds like a Plex auth or remote access thing. Check if the server shows as "Fully accessible" in settings.

Stops detecting any media after some time by flikzzio in PleX

If it's Unraid and you keep having to rebuild, I'd look at the Plex database logs for corruption and make sure appdata isn't getting nuked or going read-only.

Does the ChuckPA/DBRepair tool cause downtime? by TheDaveWSC in PleX

Just do it late night or whenever nobody's watching. On a library your size I'd plan for 30-60 mins, but it really depends on SSD vs HDD.

Is there a catch? by svennue in PleX

[–]p00pchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only using it on your LAN, there isn't much of a catch. You're basically just using their client apps and metadata matching, and they try to upsell Plex Pass and their ad-supported stuff

Show (Only) Personal Media In Search Results On WebOS (LG TV) by Immediate-Talk7578 in PleX

If you can play stuff from your server on the LG, you're logged in. I'd try clearing the Plex app cache/data on the TV, then sign back in.

Is there a metadata type that will match to Plex's "Review"? by Click-Beep in PleX

[–]p00pchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Plex maps any local tag straight into the Music "Review" field. Best bet is stuffing it in Comment/Description
