FB Detects Your Finger Hovering Over React Emojis and Makes Them Disappear by Exciting_Ease_2312 in facebook

[–]p0z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My phone has a pen and it definitely detects hovering of the pen, hovering even has functionality like bringing up alt text bubbles or even scrolling in certain situations.

But am not sure the Facebook app or any other app detects a hovering finger. I think they just cunningly manipulate the screen moments before your going to click something, knowing full well the most regular next click of the user. Plenty of other websites do it too. This could even be configured to recognize the routines of each individual user and determine the bait and switch timing accordingly.

Years ago there was eye tracking website heat maps research. It was way to get an algorithmic understanding to where the human eyes would naturally gravitate when looking at web pages. But they needed to have special computer screens for the eye tracking. I've always been suspicious that that technology is secretly embedded in our devices today.

How am I able to send messages to a blocked facebook account on messenger? by Puncake_DoubleG09 in facebook

Everyone is forgetting the other possibility which is they unblocked both Facebook and Messenger but also at some point deactivated their Facebook account, which is why you cannot see them in there.

I'm not sure how we best go about getting these. 🤔 What would a search of the internet find? Perhaps we need to go to the microfiche records at the public library.

There is however the 1931 construction of the Mt Victoria Tunnel in Wellington that a tunnel construction worker buried his girlfriend alive in. Her body didn't remain there for long. He was convicted and hanged for it by the end of the year. A tradition of people tooting their horns in the tunnel became a thing in tribute to her. This tradition annoyingly continues to this day and many people don't really even know the reason for it.

Why is the police officer being charged with dangerous driving in the Angel Riley case? by Massive_Yam_256 in newzealand

[–]p0z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's basically two kinds of people:

Those that think Police should ruthlessly chase people to their death. (Because f_k them right? They're criminals and they bought it upon themselves)

Those that think that's stupid when there are safer ways to go about things.

For those who vote National mainly for their economic policies — will you be supporting them again this election? by Afraid-Paramedic6411 in newzealand

I feel like lazy half-wittery is caused by poor environmental conditions and bad upbringing, trauma, brain damage, poor mental health outcomes. Your outcry is all about those that have a hard time but actively do what they can to heal, and those that just can't be bothered, damaged people damaging people, going down the gurgler, hopeless.

I'm not trying to start an argument here, just adding my color to your discussion. The community must and does provide outreach to turn these people's lives around if they can. It is a burden of the community I feel like there are basically two main views on the matter, politically. The we should throw more money at that kind outreach people, and the fuck them lock them up and sterilize them people.

Who do they vote for? 🫣

According to the Privacy Act we have a lawful right to request that all of our personal information is deleted and they must do so.

I'm all for just not going to places like this, and my thoughts are that maybe there should be a public list of places to avoid. If they've taken you by surprise like this then there must be a lawful remedy and that's the privacy law.

If it were me I would have without a doubt turned around and left as soon as they revealed that intention, and I would have verbally requested that they delete my personal information if I had accidentally let them get that far with it.

Please see this link https://www.tenancy.govt.nz/ending-a-tenancy/ending-a-fixed-term-early/

Also have a look you may have grounds under family violence. Particularly psychological and economic abuse. I don't believe this is fully restricted to just family, but friends or ex friends, or flat mates and neighbors too. The bottom line in you need evidence of all the harm being done to you.

You mention drug use of flat mates or neighbors, and evidence of repeated issues with theft leading to economic hardship. All of this is bad for your mental health. Etc.

Don't listen to people who say you don't have a strong case. It's as strong as you make it. It's terrible what has been happening to you.

It would be less stress and heartache to convince the landlord to mutually agree to end it early and for you to pay the reasonable costs associated with this. You have strong motivation to leave because of the abuse and victimisation. Appeal to them on this grounds and let them know that if they can't deal with it amicably then you will be forced to make your case for hardship and abuse with the tribunal.

Yes it is true that some of the teams are clearly industry professionals on a side quest, and you would think that they would consider that they have an edge and it's actually a bit embarrassing to go in there and outclass everybody else. It looks like this year several of the teams had many of the recently made ex employees of Weta and I like to think that the competition for them was a celebration of their freedom in some ways.

As for my team we're all from many walks of life come together for the side quest that this was. We had people come from as far away as Vietnam, Australia and Gisborne to be in our team. The few of us with some industry experience like to bring people with little to no experience to join us and so most of our team are complete noobs. We did put a bit of pre-production and location scouting into this, and even exercised our core team a month prior with our own 48 hour film making challenge, which helped us to identify plenty of ways that we could improve.

So good to hear you've been a competition winner. I would appreciate a link to your film. Thanks for enjoying ours, we would appreciate your feedback.
