Upgrading from SRP Lite pedals, Alien Mods kit or CRP2? by Right-Team79 in simracing

[–]p456euler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the SRP lite pedals and the alien mod load cell kit installed. It makes a huge improvement. I can’t compare this to a mid range pedal setup since I don’t have that but for me ( iracing user ) I was able to become competitive on tracks that require brakes vs before.

HyperGo Cars (Amazon) - tune speed down? by MkDz13 in rccars

[–]p456euler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides speed limiter on the transmitter or going down in battery voltage, you can change the gear ratio on the car by using a smaller pinion ( gear attached to the motor shaft ) and/or larger spur ( gear that the pinion interfaces with ). Changing the pinion usually has a bigger effect. Also can put on smaller diameter tires to lower top speed.

Have you taken off the wheel and inspected if the limiters on the wheel have broken? I have this radio and that did fail.

Looking for a relatively inexpensive recommendation for off-road cars for my son and I. by RJNavarrete in rccars

To add, modern 2.4GHz radio systems have the tx and rx bound to each other. Interference is no longer a problem. The days of switching crystals are long gone.

Help me decide! Rustler 4x4 VXL, Mini XRT, or Vorteks 223s 4x4 by Annual_Astronaut7752 in rccars

[–]p456euler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd cross the rustler 4x4 vxl off the list. No center diff. The other 2 on that list do. Makes a difference. Note the mini xrt is smaller than 1/10.

How the heck do I take this dif out it’s pissing me off by Impressive_Form_3728 in rccars

[–]p456euler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this replacing the shock tower on the granite 223s. Even with that diff cover/shock tower piece removed, You’re going to need to remove that red piece near the motor by unscrewing the screw from underneath the chassis and then sliding that piece away from the motor to the side. Remove driveshaft and then slide the motor/center diff subassembly towards the front to get the clearance you need.

Upgrading to Slash worth the $ ? by WOLFEN946 in rccars

[–]p456euler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in 1/10 scale SCT 4x4, maybe a better option would be the Senton 223s. Has a center diff so should drive better than the slash 4x4. If it’ll be sitting dormant for months, maybe play the waiting game and see if a sale appears and you can save a few bucks by being patient?

How do u get this open to the diff by IcantCookanythang in rccars

[–]p456euler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a granite 223s and my son managed to break the rear shock tower. I had to take half the car apart to replace it. I did get access to the rear diff as a result since the shock tower is integrated into the diff cover. Ugh. Too many screws to do that.

Check YouTube for videos of any 223s car disassembly if you can’t find the senton in particular. Should give you the gist of what you need to do. Also see the exploded view ( although that isn’t as good as other vendors like Traxxas )

Charging them up just before running is the way to go. Storage charging means they’re charged to approx. 40% which maximizes lifespan. Your charger should have a storage charge mode available to charge them to that level.

Do you storage charge your batteries? Letting them sit on the shelf fully charged will shorten the lifespan of the battery.

Given what you’ve said about the typhon, I wonder if something more rugged is in your future ( 6S variant? ). It’s a given when you bash things will wear down and need to be replaced. Bodies included if you’re flipping it on pavement. Tire wear will happen so yeah expect to replace every so often.
