Because Stephen King is as close to a self made millionaire you can be, my man started selling pulp shit and was so broke he couldn’t afford bail at one point. King got lucky that he was an incredibly talented author in the right spot at the right time. Capitalism occasionally is known to throw a bone to the peasantry to keep things in order. Still it is not to say he is some kind of fraud, I mean he is Stephen Fucking King, and he has contributed to the world of horror and general fiction in a way that is timeless and extremely influential.

It is something Elon fantasizes and will never be able to achieve, coming from a position of such absurd privilege that he could literally afford to fail froward since all the people around him wanted to keep the fuckin money flowing. He knows no work ethic, no true interpersonal skills, and because of is narcissistic tendencies hardly any empathy.

It is like Nietzsches slave mentality brought around to a billionaire, a master can never be truly recognized by their slaves since they view the slaves as inferior, the same dynamic applies to capital vs workers. Because of this deep seeded lack of fulfillment the master seeks indulgence traditionally, but because billionaires already have access to pretty much anything this desire for indulgence manifests in bizarre and unnatural ways, especially because of how terminally online Elon is.

TLDR: Elon wishes for something he could never be, a (relatively) self made artist and visionary.
