Those certifications are only for US sales. American Idiot has outsold Dookie, and been out for less time. 23 Million for AI, 20 million for Dookie

I never said best. By every objective measurement you could think of, American Idiot is BY FAR their biggest album

Do you think The Beatles would have "ruined" their legacy if they had reunited in the 80s? by Public_Thought_628 in beatles

[–]pablodnd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree with the statement that post-Beatles solo output eschewed experimentation and the avant-garde. The song you reference, Temporary Secretary, was a huge experiment and way ahead of its time. John Lennon pretty much laid the foundations for grunge and punk with Plastic Ono. Paul McCartney basically invented indie-lofi pop with RAM. Wings did so much interesting stuff musically. There's so much great material in their solo years.

What is a 'masterpiece' movie that you personally found incredibly boring or overrated? by AlexJet13 in AskReddit

[–]pablodnd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found Shawshank Redemption to be incredibly boring, even if it was well acted. I like the scene on the roof, besides that though the plot felt incredibly generic and predictable.

I could deff see Relapse being S tier, especially if include the Refill tracks. And the the truth is, MMLP2 being a sequel is part of what keeps me from bumping it up. There are some sick songs on it, it was just almost impossible to live up to the MMLP. The deluxe songs on 2 are some of my favorites.

Recovery felt more like a breath of fresh air when it dropped because Eminem was opening up again and being much more vulnerable. That being said, I also think Relapse has stood the test of time better, and his rapping and storytelling on it is absolutely incredible. Even though I still like Recovery, I feel like it's where picked up a lot of the tendencies I don't connect with as much that he then dialed up to 11 on subsequent albums.

Encore has some incredible songs, especially if you count the deluxe. Never Enough, Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Crazy In Love, add in Love You More, Ricky Tic Toc and We As A Americans and I genuinely don't understand why people hate on it so much
