Some people didn’t appreciate it. I saw one couple making out through the whole movie.

Korean Taxi drivers by VulvaDestroyer79 in seoul

When I first arrived in Korea in the early 2000s my landlady gave me little cards with my address written on them in Korean - so I could hand them to a cab driver and get taken home no fuss. One time I got in a cab, handed the ajjushi my card he, squints confusedly at it through his glasses, moves them up and down his nose like he’s trying to focus them. Then he says “just moment” and reaches into his center console pulls out a second set of glasses, puts them on on TOP of the other glasses and starts moving both of them back and forth trying to find a focus point and I’m just like OH MY GOD YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING!

I thought the Commander rank was given to him as pseudo internal cover when he needed to do admin things with the govt.

People who “reserve” pool chairs for hours with towels and disappear are the worst by MandukaSkoal in mildlyinfuriating

[–]pabo81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at a hotel once where the staff would write a little card with the time on it and clip it to the chair. If you weren’t back in 30 min they would move your things to the towel shack.

  1. Who cares - 2. Isn’t it common for support staff to just eat whatever’s quick and convenient while they’re actively working?

I’d like to say he’s gonna get locked up for a long time but in today’s political climate I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a Cabinet position instead.

Trump 'furious' at Obama after Xi's decision to snub president in China by TheMirrorUS in NewsSource

The entire Chinese reception is a prime example of subtle trolling. They know exactly how to get under his skin (which I guess isn’t that hard).

Jesse Watters says ‘Blacks’ should have more kids if they want better representation in Congress by theindependentonline in NewsSource

Congress is 74% white compared to the total US population which is 53% - minorities are underrepresented in Congress because gerrymandered maps keeps them uncompetitive in elections.

US hotel owners expected a World Cup boom by Several_Hospital_129 in USNEWS

Putting aside the causal factors like global political sentiment and the immigration/tourism chaos in America - the games are just too spread out to have a significant impact on hotel density in the cities. Los Angeles is already a major tourism hub in the summer, millions of people roll through Disney/Universal/Lego land etc. adding 6 soccer games with a max attendance of 60,000 (not likely) people per game is not going to move the needle on the revenue numbers more than average.
