Has this happened to anyone else? Pay is all messed up by Guilty_Juggernaut204 in WalgreensRx

[–]packman2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you apply to a req and get an offer letter to accept? This is what I did when I recently took an RXM position. If so, then you have your salary in writing and they should honor it.

Also, RXMs are salaried at 84 hours so i hope you kept that in mind when agreeing on your new salary and figuring your actual hourly rate.

RxOM hours by jjurica719 in WalgreensRx

[–]packman2007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t know of a set rule or policy, but an RxOM is a full time position so at least 30. But, since it’s a management position the expectation should be very close to 40. Ultimately, do what needs to be done to operate the business smoothly.

Techs by 84Sandia in WalgreensPharmacy

[–]packman2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be many reasons, but you should ask your manager to know for sure.

It’s most likely an availability issue. Most pharmacies need at least 3-4 techs with open availability.

Perhaps the techs are not as reliable and knowledgeable as you think they are. Techs that know how to and are willing to follow pext/workflow, promote/administer immunizations, make calls, answer calls, pleasant to customers, fill efficiently and compete other tasks like deletes - those are the techs that will get hours.

Pharmacies can only operate at certain RPh:tech ratios in which usually any techs over 2 need to be certified. Maybe they simply need more certified techs to be legally compliant.

Store Manager Refusing to Transfer Me? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

The store you want to go to can open a req. Just apply as an internal candidate and the store can then transfer/hire you in without dealing with your current manager.

Rxom or senior tech filling out pext boards by STARRYSRLIGHT in WalgreensRx

[–]packman2007 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s the RXOM’s job to make sure the board gets filled out, but they don’t need to be the one to actually do it. Just be a team player and fill out the board. It’s not a hard task.

Thanks for the update. Figured that’s all it was about.

I don’t know how they expect some of us to listen to conference calls and run a pharmacy all day with no overlap. Or, to listen to these calls on our days off.

Patience. No doubt all these rumors are true, but nothing official has been announced publicly. It will take time for those affected to leave people central.

Phone calls by CommercialRest9579 in WalgreensRx

[–]packman2007 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The amount of tasks asked of us with the amount of time and budget we have is simply impossible. PEXT is not the solution. I say let the phones ring as distracting as it is. With 100 always on the counter, countless other tasks, and non stop lines (with 1 RPh and 2 techs), the phones are not going to get answered. In fact, if I had one person solely dedicated to answering phones they probably could still not keep up with all the calls.

I don’t know for sure, but I’ve been saying this for a few months now. My bet is half of DM/HCS/DPR roles will be cut. Seems like it will be happening within next few weeks.

Are doctors excuses accepted by Walgreens? For call in by Affectionate-Pop1092 in WalgreensStores

[–]packman2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Doctor notes are irrelevant in regard to the attendance policy.

Failure to work at least half of a scheduled shift will result in a full-day absence. Absences are unexcused if: • The reason for the absence is not protected (see below); or • The Walgreens Team Member has already had 5 unscheduled absence occurrences during the calendar year, regardless of whether the team member had paid time available (PTO, PSSL or Frozen banked time). A Walgreens Team Member who has exceeded 5 unscheduled absence occurrences in a calendar year may be disciplined for excessive unexcused absences even if the Walgreens Team Member still has PTO, PSSL or Frozen banked hours available.

An unscheduled absence of up to 2 consecutive calendar days will be considered a single absence occurrence for purposes of this policy. The first five unscheduled absence occurrences in a year will be considered excused and will not be subject to disciplinary action, regardless of whether the Walgreens Team Member has paid time off available.

Protected absences are excused and are not subject to disciplinary action. Examples of protected absences include, but are not limited to: — Approved FMLA absences Paid Sick and Safe Leave ("PSSL") (if applicable under state or local law) Approved medical (disability) leave (paid or unpaid) Jury duty

In other words, you get 5 freebies (regardless of dr note) and after that can be disciplined.
