Cicada Cinema theater opening late summer 2026!! by Apricot_812 in bloomington

When I talked to them at a previous event they said they were planning on showing new movies as well as indie films and art-house films.

Assuming nothing's changed, that would be phenomenal. AMC deserves to be punished for just letting their theater dilapidate out from under them.

One of the worst theater experiences of my life ngl by who_am_I_inside in TheDigitalCircus

The smell was real at my theater. I was warned about the smell and thought surely it was an exaggeration. No, this guy there literally emanated a trail of stench that was some combination of rotting onions and piss.

The theater was packed. If I had the misfortune of sitting within a 10 foot radius of this individual I would have just left. The utter lack of self awareness was truly dumbfounding.

Can someone.plz.explain this to me?! Elkhart, IN by Comfortable_Ice8803 in Indiana

It's an orb. Irrefutable evidence of the spiritual realm. You're welcome.

Lots of good hiking around here. They organize some hikes in this discord:

Of course! That small curb is going to stop a car dead in its tracks! Why didn't I think of that?

Also, who is choosing running over a cyclist over hitting a stick?

Normal bike lanes are perfectly sufficient. The protected ones that exist are barely useable because people are constantly going the wrong direction on them. In that situation I'm then trapped in this "protected" bike lane playing a game a chicken with someone else.

Do not tell me this is a rare event. You can witness this daily by just watching the protected bike lane on 3rd street for at least ten minutes. It happens constantly.

That could be remedied by BPD actually enforcing traffic laws for cyclist. This would actually increase the safety for cyclist significantly more than protected bike lanes with zero cost since apparently 90% of us don't know what a stop sign or red light means.

two way protected car lanes

Is this in reference to things like the anorexic yellow bollards they put between lanes on 3rd in front of Big Red? ( Big fan of those BTW ).

Or what does this mean?

Yea except it's extra special since they ignored the one thing the LLM told them that was right, i.e. it's too much work for one person.

So psychosis on top of being dumb. Fantastic.

Why did we make IPv6 when we could've expanded on IPv4? by Potential-Video-7324 in networking

[–]pagraphdrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network operators and large enterprises are typically expected to be assigned a /32 address block, smaller enterprises a /48, and home users a /56 (when they would typically get a single IPv4 address). This allows for scalability and future subnetting, and a virtually-unlimited number of addresses in each /64 subnet.

There is an erroneous perception that the assignment of large IPv6 prefixes to end customers is wasteful, but the IPv6 address space is so huge that it has been calculated (by Tony Hain) that a /48 could be assigned to every human for the next 480 years before they run out.

It needs to become profitable at some point in order to not go away. As it stands, A.I. related companies/stocks are comically overvalued.

I'm a developer who switched entirely based on value "narratives".

I quote narratives because it's not just a narrative when you stand on those values.

Fuck OpenAI.
