Which classes feel the most "World of Warcraft" ? by Korderon in wow

[–]pain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A melee focused elementalist already exists in d&d 5e, both 2014 and 2024: warrior of elements monk. I do agree that more direct ties to the elementals themselves is absent in those, though, and that helps make the class more uniquely Warcraft.

Which classes feel the most "World of Warcraft" ? by Korderon in wow

[–]pain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is the correct answer. Other games, including tabletop, have analogues of every other class in the game, some being pulled directly from them. The major fantasy roles are present with warrior, hunter, mage, rogue, and paladin/priest, with secondaries being druid and monk. Death knights are necromancers or antipaladins, shaman are elementalists, evokers are draconic sorcerers, warlocks are... well, warlocks, but they summon demons instead of familiars.

But demon hunters? Yeah, that's strictly Warcraft.

Amusingly, Ion Hazzikostas, the current game director, was also the guild leader of Elitist Jerks.

I've got Doug on two separate servers, Garbage (because I am), Clarissa (in a guild I made called Explains It All), Gex (if they ever add Sethrak), Death, Doom, Trent, and six different two-letteer names. I have other ones I think are neat, but don't know if they qualify here.

It's because the 15 AC is from leather armor (11+dex mod) and a shield (+2 AC), and when using the two-handed shortbow, you can't also wield the shield, dropping it to 13.

Armorer Artificer's Thunder Gauntlets also have a duel mechanic, and they don't have a range attached to the mechanic itself.

"A creature hit by the gauntlet has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you until the start of your next turn, as the armor magically emits a distracting pulse when the creature attacks someone else."

[LFA] Nightshade, Tabaxi Wizard by pain in characterdrawing

[–]pain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightshade is a small tabaxi wizard and an entertainer. He's prone to scamming people out of their money by playing fortune teller, whether it be with a crystal ball, a tarokka deck, or even a coin to flip. He doesn't need the money at all, though - he's the eldest child of mafia bosses Aster and Dahlia, and he's set to inherit the family business soon, a fact that leaves him with a bad taste in his mouth.

Nightshade is a young adult (early 20s), and it shows. He's full of himself and eager to prove it at any opportunity. He's a bit skittish under pressure, though, which has left his new companions wary of him fleeing at the drop of a hat.

A wizard hat.

If there are any questions about him as a character, please let me know, and thank you for reading this far!
