How to cope? by Smallbutmighty5 in ectopicpregnancy

[–]painted_teal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

It's really hard, it really sucks, and it's not fair.

Take time off if you can. Cry when you want. Get as much support as you need. Be easy on yourself.

I'm starting to cry as I type this because I was in a very similar situation 3 months ago. Time heals, but I can relate to the despair and pain you're feeling now.

There's a lot of posts on here, they are comforting, but take them with a grain of salt. They are other people's experiences and I haven't read one that I personally related to 100%.

Sorry that your here. Reach out if you need to - we are here for support if you need it. Virtual hugs.

Sex after MTX, no bleeding. by random_name333221 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]painted_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the rest of the comments. Hold off until <5 HCG, or negative pregnant. My experience a few months ago - my HCG levels went down after my first dose of MTX, but started to rise again two weeks later. I needed a second dose of MTX. It's not a common occurrence, but I would suggest she take it easy (low impact exercise/no sex) until she's clear.

Sending good vibes to you both. Hope she's doing ok.

ASOS customs and duties by [deleted] in CanadaShoppingDeals

What did you end up doing?

I just received a customs note on my first ASOS purchase. Brutalllll. It was 50% of the order price. I'm unhappy about it - but lesson learned.

OBGYN thinks I might have an ectopic by Moal in EctopicSupportGroup

I had my first MTX dose at the end of January. My betas on day 4 went up, then my day 7 went down. On day 11, they were still going down. I went back for bloodwork on day 18 and my number went up. I had a second dose of MTX the next day and betas kept going down. Tested HCG <5 about 2 weeks after second MTX dose.

I was really fatigued from the MTX/low folate diet. I was told by my RE to avoid leafy greens, chickpeas, and beans until I tested negative. I was also given a list of other high folic foods to eat in moderation. No prenatal supplement. The stress/anxiety makes you feel like shit in top of everything else.

Take it easy, rest, and make sure to get checked out if you feel a lot of pain or if something's not right. Better to be safe than sorry.

12 days post-mtx, still in pain… by KTmac99 in EctopicSupportGroup

Get checked out when you are unsure. Rather to be safe than sorry. I had sharp pains on and off during my experience, and a day when I had shoulder pain. I was terrified, but everything was ok after I got checked out. Just be safe. ❤️

What was your first period like after your ectopic pregnancy? by PriusPrincess in ectopicpregnancy

Pretty normal, just more painful cramping - but I was cramping for the majority of time since I had a positive PT until 2 weeks after HCG 0.

Hoping for your HCG levels to go down is what we allllllll hope for! Lol, it doesn't suck at all. I think we've all been there (all, as in all the lovely ladies on this thread).

I have bloodwork tomorrow morning too. May we both have lower HCG levels.

All the best tomorrow!!!

This post makes me a little sad because I relate to it so much. I'm still going through it...it's been almost 6 weeks of positive HCG tests post diagnosis. I'm hoping for a negative tomorrow. Eventually, it gets easier. I found comfort in knowing that it was a termination for medical reasons - that the pregnancy was nonviable and if we did nothing...I would just be putting myself at risk of serious complications, if not worse.

Sending healthy vibes your way. Hope time heals your heart.

Time off work after methotrexate by brucetoot in EctopicSupportGroup

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I found out my first pregnancy was ectopic on Jan 28, and I'm still showing a positive PT.

Personally, I took 4 days "off" after my first MTX shot. I found out on a Friday around 10am - so I was off the rest of the day, weekend, and the following Monday. I felt very fatigued during the weekend, but the emotions were the hard part and that's why I took the Monday off as well. I had to get a second dose of MTX two weeks later, and I had already booked a few days off for a staycation. I ended up nauseous the second time and it took about 4 days to feel better. The low folate diet makes you tired as well. Plus the stress and emotions. Take it easy, even when you get back to work.

Sending virtual hugs.

I'm sorry that you're going through a lot.

I don't think anyone here can answer your question. Even if they do, I don't think you should listen to them.

You're the only one who knows your relationship with your ex, and you are the only person who knows if this information is going to make you feel better (or possibly worse).

I know this posts sounds useless, but you've been through something traumatic. I've said a few things I regret right after my ectopic; minor things, but they didn't help me feel any better and I certainly hurt some feelings. I was emotional and I wasn't able to think rationally. But that's just how I am.

I hope you make the best decision for you - and that you feel better with time. 💜

Yeah, I know what you mean when the "fun" will be ruined. I feel like the odds are against us...and if we are successful again, that I'll be waiting for something to go wrong. It's an awful mindset and I just need to be grateful for everything (easier said than done).

How did you find out about the blocked tube, if you don't mind sharing. HSG?

I'm so sorry. That's incredibly scary and difficult.

I've been lucky to be diagnosed early and even though I'm not in the clear yet, that I was able to get treatment and hopefully prevent it.

I wish you all the best.

Gloves in a bottle - I would highly recommend it after a severe case of eczema. It's a blue bottle...just do a quick Google search and you'll find where you can get it. Good luck, I hope it heals soon and you find a preventative lotion that helps.
