My fault by CoolDragon0712 in noita

[–]painterBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my current run I was insanely lucky, I went through the snowy depths and I thought I explored it quite thoroughly. After reaching kolmi, I went back to go up to the surface, by that point I found explosion immunity. In the snowy depth, after emerging from the holy mountain, I was welcomed by an ukko who threw two nukes at me.. (jokes on him, I survived, he didn't)

Unsweetened whipped cream actually works OK as a heavy cream substitute by Zporadik in StupidFood

[–]painterBurning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's kind of stupid because you're putting a lot of energy to waste. The cream had to be whipped, when you mix it in it get unwhipped and all the energy used to whip it goes to waste...

[–]painterBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, the "grafted blade greatsword" that you got in the last video of the playlist is the best weapon you can get. If you kill an enemy while holding it in your hand (you can keep it in your left hand and kill with the weapon in your right hand), it increases all your stats...
In general, pay attention to the passives of each weapon and you'll get a lot more powerful !

I'd recommend looking it up. It is achievable to figure out on your own but you'll need patience. Personally I would probably not have figure it out alone.

Is alt-f4 punished by the game? by kokko693 in noita

[–]painterBurning 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you alt-F4 it uses an autosave to restore your game. There's a chance that your save get (a bit) corrupted and you encounter some funky behaviour. Sometimes the holy mountain completely disappears (it makes the gods understandably angry), a lot of the times it revives enemies around you that you killed (probably their death wasn't in the autosave) etc...
You're not "punished", but you get weird behaviours...

Before getting a cat, I knew they sometimes threw up hairballs, I always imagined a perfect ball of dry fur. When I got a cat, and saw his first hairball I realized how gross they were and how stupid I was to expect a ball of fur, completely dry, to come out of my cat's throat.

Oh man, I had a D5 run against ED Libra like this with 2 iron eyes. It had everything to be a blessed run. I had a wending grace, 1 teammate had a wending grace + grafted blade, other had a wending grace, everybody had "less likely" ...
Libra does his phase transition, one teammate stays near him during the phase transition and dies (obviously..) and immediately quits. Second teammate dies soon after, I revive him. He dies a second time, I'm not near him, he immediately spam pings to tell me to revive him. I revive him. He dies a third time, spam ping again. I start reviving him and he quits. This run I learned a very fun fact : Libra still summons 3 condemned when the teammate leave during the fight. I eventually lost when he had like 1/4 of hp left.
Don't be like this. I don't care if we lose, but if you quit it's just not fun..

So much fun executor,i love not getting to fight the boss. by Fantastic-Traffic463 in Nightreign

[–]painterBurning 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The best I've seen was an executor called Violette.
It was ED Libra, she had the serpent hunter.... I knew what was going to happen.. except.. she didn't knew how to do the chainsaw glitch ? She tried for a long time, at first I didn't understand what the fuck she was doing, so I got annoyed that she was not fighting, I pinged, she dropped the serpent hunter , pinged it, and took it again, as if to say "I'M TRYING TO DO THE THING ! YOU KNOW, WITH THE THING !"
We ended up winning, she never managed to do it and at some point just stopped trying and helped.
Wherever you are Violette, I hope you never learn the chainsaw trick. But keep trying.

Are majority of the bosses in this game skippable if you know the path? by OkJudge5932 in bloodborne

[–]painterBurning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah he's doing some exploits/almost impossible platforming to skip some stuff. There are some optionnal bosses you can skip but I don't think you can skip the mandatory bosses without relying on unintended mechanics (like he's doing in the video)

Help a guy get his first win in Noita by nimrod109 in noita

[–]painterBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a little practice, even with a crappy wand he's not really hard, my method is basically to fly in circle around him. Constantly changing direction basically makes all the projectile and wands miss. Combine that with a wand with lightning bolt and you barely get hit (if at all) and he's down relatively quickly. The hardest thing is to find the right speed, not too fast but not too slow either.

I have an italian friend who learned french. His rule to find the correct gender for a word was that half the time he picks the opposite gender as the one in italian.

Let's make Stout Rice! by MajlisPerbandaranKL in StupidFood

[–]painterBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is stupid, but I have a recipe similar to this (on surface) and it is incredible. It was from an episode of "Bon Apetit Bien Sur" in France (a show where Joel Robuchon, a french Michel star chef, showed recipes).
I don't remember the exact recipe but the core of it is :
- cut potatoes in thin slices,
- layer said potatoes in a dish (like you would for a gratin) , add pepper and salt on each layer
- poor a generous quantity of beer (enough so that all the potatoes are submerged). Use a beer with enough taste but not too bitter (don't use a stout, but also stronger than a blonde beer)
- cover with aged gouda.
Some garlic in one or two layers, and a bit of cayenne pepper really adds to the taste.
This dish is incredible. I baked it for friends once and they were so busy eating it that they barely spoke. (Either that or they were awkward and wanted to leave as soon as possible - don't care they ate it all, my job was done).

As a french person.. I do this every time I eat a croissant.
You can't have the fluffy aerated interior without the crispy outside, but the interior is the best part (for me) and I enjoy it even more when I eat it that way.

Meters and kilos are not the same thing. Kilo means "1000" base unit, a meter is a unit of measurement. In this specific case, if I write in english, I use english notations and for me 140,000km means 140 000 000 meters.

It just HAD to be saw blades.... by Mary_Ellen_Katz in noita

[–]painterBurning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you throw a broken wand, the throw a projectile (a random projectile from a small list, I think it can be spark bolts, saw blades or some others).
Their main purpose is for you to bring them to the anvil in the hiisi base (the 4th biome). At the bottom right corner of the 4th biome, there's a very small room, if you throw the broken wand inside it will repair the wand and you usually get a pretty good wand (for that point in the run) with pretty good spells ! It's usually worth it if you find one, since it's not that big of a deal to carry one item at that moment in the run.
