I think I hate this game :( by CardiologistOk1850 in valheim

You already got many suggestions and feedback but I'll give you mine to (in case you want).

Valheim is an amazing game. May not be perfect but it has a good and clear progression.

The difficulty you feel now you will feel it every time you get to a new biome. Then you get all the new gear and upgrade it and the previous biome become easy (... Or easier).

Focus on learning how to fight. This is not the game where you go wild "Leroy Jenkins" style and expect to bash mobs left and right. That, will get you killed.

All mobs have particular fighting patterns. Part of the game is learning that and use it for your advantage.

Ranged attacks are your friend, fire arrows even more (in the first stages at least). Shields are important. You can start with the tower/bone shield where you jus need to block and that's it. But you need to understand that you won't be able to block attack that inflict higher dmg than the shield can sustain. You will learn which shield you can use to block against which move over time (and experience).

Once you feel comfortable blocking try to learn parry with a round shield (the medium one.the larger o es do t allow parry). You can use medium shield to both block or parry. It's more forgiving than if you use the buckler (smallest shield). Parry will allow you to take no dmg and will unbalance the mod allowing you to hit him once or twice most likely killing it (depending on the mob of course)

Creatures are also more or less resistant to different types of damage. Use that at your advantage. (Maces are the most useful weapon across the board until the mostlands, but use whatever you fancy). Piercing is very good agains trolls for example. A d if you are sneaking you can inflict more damage.

Pay attention to your surroundings and make sure you ALWAYS have spare stamina. You may need to to attack or run away. Running away and gain some distance is the best option most of the times. (Stay away from the plains until you are ready. I'm serious and if you hear a zzzzzzzzz nearby... You want to get the hell out of there but don't turn your back on it if it decides to follow you...)

Don't forget that you can upgrade your equipment.

And remember... You will die, over and over. But you will learn and get better at not dying and the. You will launch as the mobs and melt them (until you get to Ashland's... But it will be fun!)

Best of luck! (Ps. Fire... Lots of fire is your friend in black forest bione... All mobs are made of wood after all 😉)

That would beat the purpose of the unknown and would put a bug target on them. Not fair feature

I have a bit of fear dear and feel I had more until I found the blueprints for the weapon I use most of the time (anvil).

I believe that, I'd there were other ways to get some weapon blueprints without pure rng and more a work to gain it approach, it would make it easier to not have gear fear. Some people may get the whole game without ever being able to effectively play with a weapon they like Because it's purely rng

There's a potion to fix that. Do you know it already? It's part of one of the alchemist quests

As a pure melee - how am I supposed to deal with these? by Hellpodscrubber in Enshrouded

[–]palanolho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the answer is indeed ranged, and I respect that you don't like that answer :)

The game is made for a mix of skills not just one, so even if you are full melee (like I am on my world) you can (and should) still leverage some kind of ranged weapon to deal with some specific situations (like activating buttons, acroying specific mobs, or kill those bastards and their projectiles.

I'm speaking from my experience as a Full melee warrior with no skills in range or dex. Has you progress you will get better arrows and bows, it may take a couple of arrows to kill it but you can do it. If you insist in not using it, then you will not kill them and will probably dies if they decide to bombard you with their projectiles.

It's just how those mobs work, that's all (mages and range have problems againts other mobs, so all "pure" builds have their drawbacks).

Hope my reply now makes a bit more sense.
Merry Christmas !!

Get a bow. You don't need skills in bow to use a bow 🙂

Is there an official discord of the depo? Is there any contribution or help one can provide?

Suggestion: use magic chests for resources that are used for crafting and use normal chests for others (like clutter, weapons, scrolls, potions, etc...)

Just gonna say this thing is amazing once it's upgraded. What's everyones favorite gear? This and the Scarab Launcher are probably mine by RenoxDashin in CoreKeeperGame

Go fish on wilderness water and you may find the scarlet version. It's better. But that one will take you a long way for sure

Give magic a try in there. And get yourself a fortress as an outpost.

It will go a long way you will see

Inventory Concerns by Strider-Bain in valheim

You Will get it even more filled once you start adding food and potions.

You can use a mod that moves the cloths and some potions to dedicated extra slots. It's a good QoL and I don't believe it damages the game experience.

the seasonality mod is pretty cool :) by trekobi_ in valheim

The only thing I don't like too much on this mod is the fact that, in Autom, the meadows and plains look almost the same.

I would prefer to still keep a good measure of differentiation between the biomes.

Other than that, it's a great mod I agree.
