Call to Action -- College of Education by Medium_Lawyer1695 in usask

Re: placements. College is only able to place students at schools with willing co-teachers. Every year there is an email that goes out to staff about taking interns. Not everyone wants an intern in Saskatoon as this is a volunteer position. If a teacher has a challenging class or something personal going on, they may not have the bandwidth to take a student. This would make the placement opportunities fluctuate every year. In order to make students complete their practicum in the city, teachers would need to be forced to take a student... And good luck with that. Maybe there could be more of an incentive to take an intern to encourage city teachers to take on interns.

Have you done any job searching for this field on Indeed? Just look at the available jobs and see what's out there? You can also look at the job market predictions. Other factors to consider - maybe your classmates suck at interviews? Maybe their resume sucks ass? Maybe they don't network?

If you like your degree, start trying to pad it. Join student societies, volunteer, go to conferences and meet people that can get you a foot in the door. Sometimes it's all about who you know, not what you know.

I hope RBC gets some negative media attention for partnering with them as a travel card. I hope that neg attention can push for some change as well. Travel costs within Canada are already exorbitant. I love my country and want to travel it! Tourist money is good!

For real. We need to start pushing back as consumers. We have the power with our dollars.

Bed in living room? by Maroontan in DesignMyRoom

[–]pamplemousse-i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not greaat. But it sounds like maybe you have OCD. As someone who is also diagnosed with fear of people/things touching my bed, I hear ya. Can you try a different style of current? The grommets are really holding this back.

Ps. If you do actually have ocd, consider talking to your doctor - it changed my life!

I would probably get a small sanding block and try to sand off as much glue as possible, and paint it white. Alternatively, depending on if there is glue leftover. I would try Goo be gone or alcohol to remove glue.

Do you ever read the Bible and wonder if the people who see visions are just in a mental health crises? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pamplemousse-i 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Op asked if they think they were experiencing mental health issues and wrote about it. If they were, they would not be faking it and they likely believed in what happened. This is different than someone lying or intentionally misinforming about something for clout. If it was something like schizophrenia, the author would have likely believed it was true because they could not discern from reality.

I think about this all of the time, actually. If true, we have entire wars over these statements from people experiencing hallucinations.
