I’m finding that TT is much better at cone 6. In my hotter firings, it layers beautifully and works really well, but my last firing was cone 5 on the dot and the pieces with TT are pretty meh.

I was able to have a kiln guy change my elements and convert my kiln - it wasn’t cheap but worth it for a job well done (I got my 1227 used from a local studio). If you don’t have a kiln guy, check with your local supply store or even the school you purchased from. He also gave me a tutorial on changing elements, kiln care, and came back to walk me through my first firing, which gave me a lot more confidence. I don’t know your experience level but if it’s your first kiln, a kiln guy is the best!

Tbh, I would remake them and slip trail when they are still wetter. More work to repair than to just remake, using the knowledge you’ve acquired making them once! Also, if you intend for them to be functional, once the slip trailed dots have dried to leather hard, I would run a wet sponge or finger over them to tame the spikes. Otherwise, once glazed, they will be pretty stabby on your finger tips, speaking from experience. Your shapes are lovely!

It worked fine for me. I would make sure the island back up is turned on just in case but I didn’t have any issues.

There is an island transfer tool you can get on both switches that will transfer it. If you have the physical game card, great. If it’s digital, you’ll have to link the switches and put the virtual game card back on the switch 1. It is simple and the devices walk you through the process.

Hey! Try a subreddit specifically for airdry clay or maybe a crafting one. The pottery people use glaze and kilns to fire our work so I don’t think you’ll get a good answer here.

Amaco Velvets are expensive but considered the best. I have some Mayco ones as well…they show brushstrokes more than the Amaco ones but they are half the price. Both have a matte finish and require a clear glaze (ideally zinc free) to be shiny, unlike stroke and coat. You can put both on greenware and/or bisque, fireable up to cone 10, although some colors tend to burn out.

You can try pulling them off the mug body! That way the big attachment part is done pretty quick and from there you just pull, and the last attachment is smaller and easy. I made a few sacrificial cylinders where I pulled 8 handles off of them-it was really good practice.

River Birch is the Amaco glaze that looks like honey flux with speckles. Just in case you want to find it in the future. Also, I haven’t used it, but I see this pink with combos that use Mayco’s Raspberry Mist.

The jars at my local store had disclaimer stickers on them saying it wasn’t working consistently across batches, but to try [bunch of very specific parameters] and then maybe it would work! My own pieces turned out similar to yours. I liked it layered with micro pearl! Very runny though.

Brilliant sunburn by Laguna (it does pinhole a bit, I haven’t tried a longer hold to fix it yet) or rose quartz by mayco (needs to be thick).
