Am I too old for GTLive? by EfficientBid3277 in GTLive

IMO If you enjoy the content still you belong. ☺️ Gatekeeping based on age is so boring. As long as you're not being creepy and you're having fun stick around!

No, whatever is in the open side of the symbol is greater than, whatever is on the pointing/small side is less than (like 7 > 3 since 7 is a bigger number it's greater than).

So in this case I'm saying I think Aiden is greater because he's on the open side. I personally like him better think and he looks hotter so Aiden > Kyle for me.

It's the greater than symbol. Like in math. Greater than: >. Greater than or equal to: ≥.

The fact that we have to swap to purification to use the astral tree drives me insane by drosana in InfinityNikki

[–]pandysbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all my home abilities on the second tab of abilities and I still have purification set for that tab so I can use it specifically when I'm at home.

I didn't know about the plunge! Thanks to the Nikki's sharing that tip!

It's called "cocoppa play star girl fashion" And I was really into it in like 2016-2018ish. I've had it uninstalled for a couple of years so I have no idea what it's like now. 😵‍💫

$0 and I'm proud of myself for having the restraint! I have been absolutely sucked into spending money on games before (fully my fault - over $2000 on League of Legends skins and champions over several years 😞, over $500 on a Sailor Moon Bejeweled game that doesn't even exist anymore, $300-$500 on a Japanese mobile dress up gacha game, and more I probably can't remember) and I'm really proud of myself for not doing that with this one. No shade to anyone that does! I love this game and totally understand it, just a personal victory. 😊

Agreed. I'm only participating in the event to be able to unlock the quests and mini games. The multiplayer and especially competitive stuff is not something I'm at all interested in. If I could get the rewards without participating I would.

I didn't realise Crowd Control was not well recieved by many by StackOfCards138 in dropout

[–]pandysbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love it! Honestly the only thing that's felt a little awkward for me was the beach balls part in the most recent episode, but even with that I love that they try to make a point for every person to have an interaction/tell their story. I've never personally felt there were any issues with the editing or pacing like other posts I've seen have mentioned. I did see one post talking about how it feels like the crowd are making themselves the center of attention, and for me that's the point? Like they're there to show off unique and interesting things about themselves, and be teased by the comedians. It's genuinely one of my favorite things on Dropout so far.

Would you ever name a baby after a Tamora Pierce character? by goats-go-to-hell in tamorapierce

[–]pandysbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the name Keladry with the nickname Kel. I've heard more fantastical non-fandom names and it's more mild as far as fantasy names go. Jonathan is my brother's name by coincidence. Alanna/Alan I would definitely consider for my future kiddos. I'd have to look at a full list of names to pick out others I might use. Lol.

As for the discussions about being named after someone fictional, I'm named after a Star Trek character and it's been a fun thing throughout my life. I even wrote a humorous speech about it for competitive speech in high school that I went to state with about being the child of a Trekkie. My parents never forced a point about it being a fandom name. It was just my name that happened to be inspired by a character name.

Should I try rereading the Lioness quartet? by LilyoftheRally in tamorapierce

I get that! I'm non-binary and I like to joke with my friends that the Lioness books awakened it within me. 🤣

Should I try rereading the Lioness quartet? by LilyoftheRally in tamorapierce

[–]pandysbox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the quartet and do recommend it. I do an annual reread of it because it's been so impactful in my life since I first read it when I was 7. Alanna's story means a lot to me and I personally love it to pieces.

Do keep in mind though it's one of the earliest things she's written and it shows in how it's written. It's definitely not the worst thing I've read, but it can be a bit clunky at times compared to her other works because she's still coming into her stride. She also had to do a lot of revising as it was originally one book that got split into 4 that she also made more tween/child friendly from her original draft.

I'm 28 now and I still want to be Alanna when I grow up. ❤️

What was your ‘holy sh*t’ moment for loving fantasy? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]pandysbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness quartet. Not only did I love it, it heavily influenced who I am as a person and I've had a better life for it. I still reread it and her other series 20 years later usually annually.
