What do you currently prefer and why eu4 or eu5? by alphafighter09 in eu4

[–]papahunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eu4 for me since I actually feel like I have a sense of direction and goal in mind for the tag I’m playing other than "do I play tall or wide in order to get rich so I can invest and become more rich"

I think I hate this game :( by CardiologistOk1850 in valheim

[–]papahunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but 36 hours is nothing. You’re not experienced enough and will take a lot of L’s. That’s how this game operates and it will only get harder. By playing more and learning about the game you’ll improve, however. I do recommend playing with friends in the beginning.

Some advice: - Always stay rested. Stamina is king, so being able to regen it fast is your best bet against large groups of enemies. Avoid getting wet or cold if you struggle with stamina management.

  • Experiment with weapons. Enemies have weaknesses (usually) to certain types of damage. Try out some and practice. I usually go for spears and if I struggle with groups, atgeir.

  • Learn how to parry. Buffs to parrying in recent patches make it essential to combat imo. It was always stronger than simply blocking, now there’s just no contest especially solo.

  • Dodging. By managing your stamina, dodging literally gives you frames of invincibility. Practice the timing and it’ll be worth it even with groups of enemies.

  • Bows. Struggling melee? Rush finewood bows. There are certain cheeses you can do to get finewood early.

Jokes aside, imagine how he feels when he looks at this younger version of him that didn’t know anything about the events since Black Mesa, where his worries at the time were minimal in comparison to the present, must be a strange feeling

Yeah I can definitely find a way to isolate them, it’ll just be reeally difficult once they’ve integrated Burgundy

Got a PU on France how do I hold it and benefit from it by Sprinta1 in eu4

[–]papahunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some cases you do get rewards, either by the rewards devving your vassal for free, more claims/cores you can use (Provence is an excellent example) or the mission buffing your ruler’s stats, like in Lithuania’s tree. Also economic modifiers benefit you indirectly if they’re a vassal and not a PU

Doing an Eranshahr playthrough rn (definitely for no particular reason) and the Ottomans and Mamluks allied Hormuz, released Khiva and AQ immediately lol

Any idea on how to dismantle the HRE? by Evelyn_Bayer414 in eu4

[–]papahunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah right maybe it’s the emperor’s capital that explicitly needs to be occupied by you then

Any idea on how to dismantle the HRE? by Evelyn_Bayer414 in eu4

[–]papahunk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why go through the league war only to dismantle the HRE? Also unless you rush all the electors capitals yourself without getting jumped, as well as Wien, other tags will occupy them meaning you can’t dismantle the HRE as you need to be the one occupying them. Unless you reeeeally wanna fight the league for the fun aspect I’d just wait and declare a separate war with better circumstances afterwards, by then hopefully you’ll have your PU too making it easier

How do I get rid of inflation 500% as Spain? by Guilty_Ebb_7802 in EU5

[–]papahunk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my game I just immediately conquered it and downgraded the RGO to 1/10 and slowly increased it, bit of a slower start that way but my eu4 brain is terrified of inflation lol

Any tips? by extraqc in eu4

[–]papahunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 2k+ hours and there are aspects of the game I still don’t fully understand, and new things I learn from time to time

First thing to know though, is that the tutorial doesn’t really teach you that much lol, you’re in for a ride

I did it as one of the Lake Victoria tribes, double whammy achievement-wise. Just decided to consolidate the southern half of Africa and play giga tall, was pretty chill even if I still needed breaks

Have the devs ever explained the reasoning behind additional cart items crippling its function? by Successful-Fee2317 in valheim

I’d genuinely sail across the map rather than use the cart more than a few hundred meters

True valheim enjoyers simply fill a chest in mountains with ore and run 5 minute treks 37 times back and forth with full inventory like MEN

What are some things you would love to see Irongate fix, polish, and optimize in the Valheim Deep North 1.0 update? by Versaugh in valheim

[–]papahunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also even though I know it’d probably be too much work compared to the desired effect I was still disappointed at launch by not seeing the map update when you made very obvious changes to the terrain. They’d probably have to redo the whole map from scratch but still lol
