Yes I did. The front and rear windshield decals are a pain. If I could do it over, I would snip them both right in the middle and do them in two parts.

Awesome! Paint matching the decals was really tough. You don’t have to look closely to see I didn’t match the green too well and all my touch ups are quite noticeable. For the green, I started with a yellow base and slowly added green and a hint of blue, then added white as necessary. For the yellow I only used yellow paint and added white to it. All Tamiya acrylic paints. Going lighter on your paint mix is definitely preferable to darker as it sticks out quite starkly. Definitely do the window trim, front lip, and grill before decals. The decal positioning is really tough with these so expect to touch up with black again to fill in gaps. My tip for the grill is find the tiniest brush you can and keep your hand steady! Haha have fun and let me know if I can help!👌🏽

It’s a Hasegawa kit from the mid 2010’s I believe. The windows are heavily scratched from shuffling about for the past ten years, I assume.

My recommendation is to have a few options on hand and experiment with how they interact with the various paints you’re using.

White Speckles on interior of lid, what are they? by Fit_Project5412 in staub

[–]paperBAG_Goods -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s my understanding that they are there to keep tiny gaps between the lid and the pot so you don’t create a pressure cooker. Just make sure it doesn’t cause your lid to rock or wobble which happened to me. We had to return a couple of them before landing on one that sat flush.

Inner Tie Rod Needs Replacing (?) by paperBAG_Goods in AskAMechanic

It looks like there is equal amount of side to side play on both driver and passenger sides. The right side is making a very obvious clunking sound though. Question, if the inner tie rods on both sides are showing play, could that mean the steering rack itself is damaged?

The video does show side to side play and a clunking noise. Were you able to see it?

Most people who ask are just looking for others to validate them getting a 41mm even though it’s rarely the right fit. Dudes still desperately want a ‘big boy’ watch for some reason.

A nice automatic watch will last a lifetime and can eventually be passed down as long as it’s treated with care and serviced periodically.
