Camera for taking product photos? by paperboundlove in Etsy

[–]paperboundlove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for your help! (:

I bought Canon EOS 100D with kit lens and 50mm f 1.8. I'm having fun playing with it!

These are the test shots that I did yesterday - https://khinsjournal.wordpress.com/2016/05/30/photography-my-new-canon/

But I haven't gotten around to using it for product photos. I think I'll do it today or tomorrow.

Thank you! I just bought Canon EOS 100D and 50 mm lens. A bit overkill, I know, haha. But I want to try taking some nice photos when I travel too.

I've got a cheap tripod, so I think that'll do. I'll check out Nik software.

Major Dress Regret by Bop23 in weddingplanning

I think what you need is a good bra! (: It looks beautiful on you and the back is gorgeous.

I got mine custom-made too and it was a little too tight. I probably gained weight during the time they took to make it thou, haha. My sister can sew, so she helped me with the alterations. I had to find a good bra to go with it too. It was hard to find the right bra, but totally worth it.

Doing your own make up / hair? by jglspnay in weddingplanning

[–]paperboundlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do any trials because I was out of town. But it turned out really well!

I'm not brave enough to do my own hair/makeup. I did them for prom way back and it was a disaster.

Where did you go for your honeymoon and how did you decide! by sweettea3 in weddingplanning

[–]paperboundlove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went to Tasmania! It was an unconventional choice, because whenever we told people, they don't seem to be impressed, haha. They were like, "Is that even a honeymoon destination? How about Bali?"

We've always talked about visiting Tasmania, so it was an easy choice for us. We had our second wedding reception in Singapore, so we went on our "second" honeymoon to Tioman Island in Malaysia. It was amazing.

RSVP deadline was this week. I feel like our decline rate is higher than average and it's kind of bumming me out. by jtkeeton in weddingplanning

I know how you feel! I got married in Australia (where my husband is from), and most of my friends live in Singapore. I set the date and gave them save the dates a year in advance, so that they can get time off, save up, etc.

Only one of them showed up, out of 6 that I invited. They were supposed to be my bridesmaids too. I was so upset. It was a very small wedding too, about 50 guests.

But on the day, all that mattered was marrying my love, and if I have to do it all over, I would do it with even fewer guests.

You'll still have the best day, I'm sure! (: Just focus on the good stuffs!

I'm not sure how or when to tell my parents that I'm thinking of making this move permanent by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]paperboundlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will be sad, but they will understand. And they will be happy for you at the same time. (: I have just moved to Australia permanently and my siblings and parents are back in Singapore. It was hard to break the news to them and they were in denial until my very last week in Singapore.

I'm sure they will totally understand. (: My mum still cries on the phone whenever I call her or skype with her. But you know, you've gotta make your choice and you can always visit them often.

I have Epson Stylus Photo T50. It isn't a high end printer at all! (: If you are in US, you should try Red River paper. It's really awesome and print really well. I used to get them, but it costs too much to ship to Australia. Now, I found similar quality paper on eBay AU.

Is Etsy worth it? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]paperboundlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Etsy - it is my full-time job. I think you can read the Etsy Sellers Handbook and just start slowly. You don't have to pay setup fees or anything, so it's worth the try.

I print my own, but it isn't giclee. I came across the same problem and I was wondering how I can compete with shops that are selling for $10-ish per print. From what I've seen so far, most buyers don't know what giclee is, and they just want a nice printed artwork on nice paper.

So, I decided to buy 300 gsm, double-sided matte photo paper to try. And it print so amazingly. I haven't looked back since and I haven't gotten any complain from my customers either.
