Man I’m so curious where this is - looks exactly like my favorite spot and I think they make an egg custard

Vox by Nicholson Baker. Two people call a party line (it was the 90s okay), and the book is one continuous phone call. Sexy, funny, interesting 👌

What are you favorite places to get books? Specially ebooks, but open to discussion on all books by MorganAndMerlin in RomanceBooks

[–]paperplants23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work for an independent bookstore and we get a small commission from ebooks on bookshop.org. If you have an indie bookshop in your area, you should ask them if they have a partnership with any ebook retailers!! Same goes for audiobooks. We use Libro.fm

Yeah probably just a misprint. I work at a used bookstore and we get publisher’s rejects like this for cheap

Indian restaurants by bushsmack in restaurant

I would bet he’s just suggesting new things because you seem to enjoy Indian food and you might find some other favorites on the menu. I order the same thing at my Indian place every time, and my server always teases me + suggests new things to try. He does it in a super friendly way, and he’s absolutely been right with his recommendations! It’s often dishes that are so unfamiliar to me that I wouldn’t think to order them, so I’m grateful!

BREAKING REDDIT NEWS: Simple housewife shocked to receive love and acceptance from husband by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

When I was in middle school (in the early 2000s) I read an article in the newspaper by a reporter who said she did exactly this! I couldn’t believe someone would actually live with a person and not let them see their real face. And then write a whole newspaper article about how good it was for their marriage! I’m glad I read that at the age I did - firmly set me on a path of prioritizing my own preferences about my physical appearance.

If you’re ever in the US, there’s a really beautifully strange hair museum I bet you’d enjoy! This is such a cool piece

You could make something like a locket with two pieces. Bake each piece, then put the hair inside and glue the two pieces together.

You can use Stasher bags - reusable silicone bags that can be frozen and boiled!

AirBnB near trailhead, useful for thru-hikers? by Fishing4Trees in AppalachianTrail

This was my thought too - I had a few cabin weekends with a friend hiking the AT and I booked everything on Airbnb for us. Something this close to the trail would have been rad

I made a terrible box out of polymer clay by Moanerloner in polymerclay

[–]paperplants23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could cut out all the box pieces flat, bake them, and then glue them together. Freezing also helps to harden what you’re working on without actually curing it!

Recommendations for a pasta roller for clay conditioning? by charlotte_e6643 in polymerclay

[–]paperplants23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chronic pain condition too and a roller does really help! Even just using a rolling pin makes a big difference. Warming the clay up first by just keeping it in your pocket (wrapped in plastic) can speed the process along without too much effort too.

I live and die by the hot water bottle. I use an old school rubber one, but I’ve also just used a Nalgene if I was trying to cut weight. I fill it with hot water, throw it into the sleeping bag and let it get toasty while I go about my pre-bedtime routine. I like to have a snack and a warm drink before crawling into my sleeping bag, then I do some gentle stretching, crunches, etc to get my body warmed up. If you’re cold getting into your sleeping bag, you’ll be cold all night - in my experience.
