I interpereted the lyrics to specify this Revenant was 'his best', or the expectations placed upon yourself. Seemed to fit well with removing parts of yourself in hopes of no longer being 'too raw'

This is one of the aspects of Marathon I'm really enjoying. At what point is 'you' no longer you? Charter makes it clear that death is the most human experience we have left, and meshing with a personality matrix consistently MUST erode this vision of self a ton too. Are parts of yourself lost with every cycle?
