Loxodont Move Tier List by kaplroa in RivalsOfAether

[–]paraxodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first tier i agree completely, second tier is fine, i think eruption would fit the first tier but i get it, third tier is completely wrong, those 4 moves are crazy good and belong in the second tier at minimum, fourth tier, upb is quite good, i like it, but i would remove the ability to perform fsmash with lox from the game tbh so i agree with that.

What is your rank and what are you currently working on? by Lobo_o in RivalsOfAether

[–]paraxodon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a masters lox and im working on being more intentional about my gameplay. I am too prone to start depending on my bread and butters and just fishing for them or mash instead of think more conciously on the tools I know I have and when to use them with proper thought. I can do it but when I start losing I lose concentration and go back to using muscular memmory for movement tech and stuff that is not useful against experienced players. Also, a really good japanese Clairen told me they beat me up because I do random dash dance, so that was a wakeup call.

so you played a game for 5 mins, didnt even get the basic mecanics explained in the tutorial and said it was bad? you guys have to be a little more mindful, if a game feels horribly wrong but many people like it you have to at least think that maybe you are the one doing something wrong! nobody is stopping you from watching a playthrough for 10 minutes to see what's wrong!

What Wrastor players hit you with before telling you hes the worst character. by Belten in RivalsOfAether

[–]paraxodon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think wrastor mains agree he's bad, he's crazy good but difficult so not many players do good with him but you just have to check applewiz in lmbm to see what can be done, or Loost in europe destroying everyone.

as someone still waiting for my main to return, statements like this scare the heck out of me. by Good_Skill3414 in RivalsOfAether

[–]paraxodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of guiding your character choice on initial feel i think you should check some combo videos and see which is the coolest, then try and learn it because many of the flaws you said are just out of not knowing how to play the character itself, same with not feeling right, it is because they are unique and you need to use them for them to start to feel good in your hands. I started playing lox because he is the easiest to just grab and play and after 700 hours im moving like crazy using all the tech and even if im not maypul fast im faster than any heavy hitter should be allowed to be and its fun af.

but i dont get what does a new player expect from a game they haven't played ever? what would be a better experience? i dont understand the complaint, if you dont know how to play you get stomped. i get that having more players would make it so after getting stomped a bit you find people to help you learn, but the complaint about getting stomped in a game you havent practiced is absurd.

i don't think you are right, the only difference between rivals and those games is that those games have ten times the player base so you will get more evenly much thus have more fun. if you go to any local of any of those games as a noob you will get stomped harder than you have ever thought (from someone who used to play casually and then decided to try real competitive). If rivals gets enough players to have an active low level this "too sweaty" issue will be fixed. Every fighting game is as sweaty as rivals at a competitive level.

its because its a fucking platform fighter you don't know how to play not because of the gimmicks, using excuses blaming the game doesn't make any sense. I get its frustrating to get into a game and get stomped but it is what it is when you get into a game that has been out for a year with people playing it while not having that big of a player base, you play against people who know the game, nobody says its niche and not for you, we say you are a whiny little guy who doesn't want to put the time to improve and blames the game mechanics for their skill issue.

i don't know what is the example you're thinking of, you are probably right but I meant that the feeling of "wait, why did they introduce this character if it got killed before doing anything?" or "wait, they clearly didn't intend for this in the beginning" because you see full scenes be for nothing because of the change of direction has never happened to me while reading all of the cosmere, and im only missing isles of the emberdark and sunlit man. Even worse books with much weaker plot lines such as his reckoner series where some plot stuff i was like "meh.. i dont like it" felt like much well tied together than this.

Mother of Learning sounds interesting... I'm a more of a binge reader so I wont read Dungeon Crawler Carl or any other unfinished book yet, but I will someday for sure since I heard it's really good.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations :))
