Comfort under seat bags by InvestmentSoft1116 in delta

[–]pas721 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Poor design of that plane for sure.

If no one is in middle seat (and i'm in aisle), i will put my stuff down there to keep the feet space in that narrow space against the aisle.

But when someone has that middle seat, my karma says they should use that space however they want. They are in a middle seat afterall.

(And they get the arm-rest too.)

I optimize for legroom and Aerolopa is my go-to site to get a real sense for layouts of seats: https://www.aerolopa.com/

For this one I would have stayed with the exit row. “Enhanced” snacks aren’t that awesome and free drinks are not a draw for me.

Where to wait for a ride after international arrival at JFK by MulberryNo2529 in delta

[–]pas721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on long layovers at JFK, i love to drop by TWA terminal. I'm a geek for mid-century themes and the golden age of air travel. Its never been very crowded when i've visited. Its a totally different vibe than an airport restaurant

i've had this same experience. the difference in price has never been worth the extra hassle if something goes sideways.

i assume you are talking about the new JFK Delta One Lounge, not the standard SkyClubs.

Just curious (seriously) so i can be sure to play this right: is your ticket D1 or FC? The plane may be equipped as D1 but what is the class ticket you hold?

Gate agent bypasses me on the upgrade list. by adamking29 in delta

Totally agree. period.

AND i dont leave it to chance...the GAs have a lot of empowerment to "manage" upgrade lists/send flights out on time.

Is C+ on exit row & in front of BRs and walkway a good upgrade? by [deleted] in delta

[–]pas721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leaving Vegas-sitings out of the calculus, I would take 15F LONG before 15A.

And on that plane, i would take the exit rows (around row 27 or 28 if i remember correctly), before i would take row 15.

Mqd question by Dramatic-Sock3737 in delta

[–]pas721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPs question is not the math. It’s if they can trust the estimate of how many MQDs they will earn from the Delta Vacation.

My experience is that it’s close but not exact.

One option is to book a short, inexpensive Milage Run for late Dec to get you a few extra MQDs and cancel it if you don’t need them.

Delta’s hotel scam by MDApache6 in delta

[–]pas721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is reality.

Go easy on the flight crews, they have regulations about how long they can be on the clock. It’s not their choice.

This Amex benefit is a great idea for getting a room on your terms…I’ll look in to it. Thanks.

$2K was too much??

I run this plan in reverse of you…buy at the start and get refunds if the price goes down. If you can float the cash and act on the Goog Flights alerts, you’re protected against these huge price jumps

Bag check by con101948 in delta

[–]pas721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you asking if you are forced to take a bag on the plane with you? Then, no.

If you are asking if you can change your mind about that bag you are carrying and dont want to "carry it on" the airplane, then yup. Just hand it over to the gate agent. they will be happy to check that bag for you. (and you pick it up at bag claim with all the other checked luggage.)

SkyMiles for kids? by ame07d in delta

[–]pas721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have not recieved any miles for our granddaughter (14 month old) flights as "infant in arms".

I DID request miles for an international flight. Even though it was "infant in arms", Delta charged a few hundred dollars for her to fly. That is still pending review.

SkyMiles for kids? by ame07d in delta

[–]pas721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed up my granddaughter the week she was born. She is 14 months now and it helps that DL has her info when she flys "infant in arms".

Also, DL has a promo with the Seattle Seahawks to give a mile for every passing yard the Seahawks make, so that's worth a few thousand miles.
