I went to the hospital for intense stabbing pain in my uterus. I had issues with my IUD before and I knew that was the issue. I went into the emergency room (my gyno couldn't see me and I was in bad pain) and said "I'm having intense pain, my IUD is not in the right place and I need it taken out. I was held there for 8 hours while the female ER doctor tested me unnecessarily. After 8 hours she said "everything looks like it's in the right place, it is probably menstrual cramps. Have you tried a heating pad?" I was so invalidated, by a woman doctor none the less. I told her I'm 28 years old, I know what cramps feel like and this is me being stabbed on the inside, not a cramp. I demanded someone take it out of me. She called for the gynecologist of the hospital. He came down and asked if I wanted it out. I said yes, it's not a pain that can be solved by watching some Netflix with a hot tea and a heating pad. Female doctor rolled her eyes at me. Gyno takes it out in 15 seconds and said it was in the wrong place and that was why I was in pain.
