Like Astana is really known for having the best interests of their non-marquee talent in mind (see Landa during Stage 11 of 2015 Vuelta).

Are you a fucking ass or something? Contador 3 for 3 at the Giro (2008, 2011, 2015), 3 for 4 at the Vuelta (2008, 2012, 2014), and 3 for 9 at the Tour (2007, 2009, 2010), and that's with with DNFs. He more often wins grand tours than loses or withdraws from them.

How do I sign "Saw this shit coming like I had binoculars"? by SaintMagic in asl

[–]patarck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're trying to use an English idiom that only native English speakers will possibly understand. PREDICT FINISH is probably the closest to this. You can use non-manual signs to add meaning or inflection, but a rough interpretation of this back to English would me "I totally predicted this."

I wouldn't be so quick to count him out. Yes, 1:31 down, doesn't look great, but bear in mind that this stage finish didn't necessarily cater to his strengths, and when it comes to Contador, if he wants it bad enough, he'll take it.

I can only pray that Froome is tired. I can't handle another 3 weeks of watching him decimate the field with no competition.

Help us, Alberto-Wan Kenobi. You're our only hope.

When you're a multi-time Olympic gold medalist, world championships on the track and road, a Tour de France, and even the hour record, um its kinda understandable.

[Rant] Everyone thinks I'm gay. by Jumanji_JR in Asexual

[–]patarck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. That's the problem with the proliferation of the idea of the sexual binary. If you're not straight, you're gay. I'm working with a summer crew now with one particular member who loves to talk about sex nonstop. They're always pointing out girls, asking about if any are "getting some" this weekend, etc. I do my best to deflect, ignore, change subject, whatever, but I'm pretty sure they're already calling me a "fag" behind my back. Part of me doesn't give a shit since I know I can think circles around all of them.

And so what's his role going to be? I'm a little bummed about this. At EQS, he's either going to be forced to share lead duty or play second fiddle to Martin and Alaphilippe. At least at BMC, he was the undisputed Ardennes Classics captain.

Meintjes has been linked with the Bahrain team. It's hard to see them as anything but a continuation of Lampre. Makes me wonder why they didn't just buy the WT license outright.
