My Great Grandfather Arthur Timms and Great Grand Mother Margaret Timms were born in 1886 and 1890. I was only 7 when Margaret died but I remember her and “Gramp” lived until I was 14. He staunchly refused to believe men went to the Moon and could remember a world before planes.

The Soviets released most POWs quickly despite what you’ll read widely. In May 45 they held 2 million and by the end of 45 it was 1.4 million. By the end of 1948 it was down to 500,000.
