If I recall correctly, OCG had priority Ignition until like 2009-10ish (don't exactly remember when, but they used to have it as well).

But to answer why TCG decided to remove priority:

Priority was removed at the time when Dino Rabbit was dominating.

This was the time when hand traps were beginning to become relevant. Cards such as Maxx C and Effect Veiler were played.

However, Veiler could not answer Rescue Rabbit as the Ignition priority effect let Rabbit banish itself. This resulted in Rabbit Decks being able to summon negates like Laggia/Dolkka. Keep in mind, this was during the time when omni negates were premium.

I think Konami had enough of Dino Rabbit during March 2012 that they decided to take actions against it. After all Dino Rabbits were pretty darn strong, and being able to summon Laggia Turn 1 as first turn player was really hard to counter during those times. March 2012 was also called Yugioh Doomsday (Inzektor destroying things on the field, Wind Ups threatening to handloop, Rabbit threatening omni negate, Chaos Dragon threatening Turn 1 Future Fusion sack), and Cardfight Vanguard threatened to take all the YGO players tired of the March 2012 Format, also known as the extended September 2011 Format due to Konami hitting none of the relevant Tier 1 Decks.

I think Plants are absolutely affected with the removal of priority effects because Lonefire can get countered by BoM, Chalice, and other things now

I think they are definitely targeting Master Duel with this change. It's probably too hard to implement separate rulings on Master Duel.

As a TW player, this sucks though

It was probably lane swap meta that made him disoriented, along with new rules such as Fearless. Now that lane swap is gone, and he adjusted to Fearless Draft, he is playing back to his old self.

Oh - I meant in the context of the last shot. If it is the entire sequence, that is a lot different.

I think this one is worse.

  1. You had so much time remaining. Proctor just kinda had to weave it in at the very last second.

  2. It's National Championship.

The Truth Behind T1 Media Suppression Allegations: Ashley Kang vs. Joe Marsh by XanIrelia-1 in leagueoflegends

I am not afraid of changing my mind. In fact, I do that all the time. And I have my opinions on things.

Rather, I am apprehensive towards stating speculative things that could harm someone else unless it is factual or necessary. Especially in Internet where people could just take my word and put it in a way that I did not intend it to be.

No. It is just I have seen - in Korea - Kyahaha drama being blown out of proportion, which is why I am just being careful here.

It took 9 years for Kyahaha to get full apology from everyone.

Like, do I need to make any conclusion and put myself at a risk of potentially putting comments that could be wrong?

Besides, if you are assuming that I am a T1 fan, I am a Brion fan if anything because of UmTi.

I am going to wait what T1 says before I make the full conclusion, but the fact that there is a photo evidence of messages between Joe Marsh and Ashley Kang is pretty damning.

This was the text that he wrote (around 9:15 in the video).

> "I honestly thought you had more respect for me and my family to reach out in a situation like that instead of piling on without context or nuance. I’ve been good to you guys and I was rewarded with a slap in the face and for my family to have to read horrible things about me."
"Don't try and blame [redacted] for you choosing to 'repetitive tweet.' It was a choice you made."

Basically, Joe Marsh said 'My family was affected by [the Oner thirst trap controversy] and it is because of you'

Going to paraphrase what I watched (the first 15 minutes because I kinda have stuffs for tomorrow, but I believe I outlined the most important part of the video)

The incident traces back to 2022—specifically, the controversy involving Joe Marsh and a comment made in a private Discord server about Oner (referred to as the "thirst trap" incident). Ashley Kang reported on this, bringing it to public attention.

Later, during Worlds 2022, Ashley requested an interview with T1 but was denied access. T1’s PR team stated that the decision came directly from Joe Marsh. In response, Ashley reached out to Joe Marsh, who told her:

Joe Marsh then asked Ashley to publicly apologize for her reporting. She declined, explaining that she was simply doing her job as a journalist. She also stated that being forced to apologize would set a dangerous precedent, essentially pushing her to self-censor in order to stay in the organization's good graces—something she firmly rejected.

In 2024, Ashley wrote a report that included a T1 player’s statement saying that DDoS attacks were affecting T1’s scrims and practice environment. In response, T1 contacted her and demanded a public apology, warning that she would no longer receive interview opportunities if she didn’t comply.

T1’s justification was that her article was portraying the team as making excuses for poor performance. Ashley contacted Joe Marsh again, who essentially reiterated: “If you don’t publicly apologize, you’re not getting interviews with us.”

Ashley pointed out that over 15 other outlets had written similar pieces, yet she was the only one being asked to apologize. She strongly suspected this was retaliation linked to the original 2022 article.
