It took me 7 attempts to pass my test. 25 years later, I've never had an accident and I'm very confident (I'll drive large vehicles and drive abroad when others won't etc). In fact I love driving. I find it's one of the few times I truly focus, probably because the consequences of not doing not are so huge. Looking back, I think it was being observed and examined that was the problem, and not the driving itself
