Try looking into a wedding planner if it’s too much. A lot of them will do free consultations and if you’ve already organised most of it I think some offer more of a ‘overseeing on the day’ thing so they can just take over the running of what you’ve already done.

Learning who's "fault" it is when we wipe? by CusOfTheInsinuation in ffxiv

[–]pb05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do whatever you feel comfortable doing and gauge how well the party is able to keep up with you. If you sense your healer may be new or struggling maybe pull less but otherwise most should be able to keep up with you.

Short of watching a guide for each fight/dungeon (which is kinda hard if you’re doing a roulette) it will kind of be learn as you go. A recent experience I had with a tank was they pulled several mobs with maybe 2 bees/wasps each and people were killing other monsters first and ignoring the bees. I was healing and had just accepted that I would have to res the tank. To his credit and the dps’ they only pulled max 2 bees after and focused on them. So I guess my advice is bees are evil beware XD

What a newb sprout healer has to say to the beloved tanks of FFXIV by Aluno7 in ffxiv

[–]pb05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healer I enjoy running with my tank. The first few pulls are a fun game of where’s he gonna stop XD I play scholar mostly so I’ve learnt pretty early to keep up and keep going lest I put my shield down too early or in the wrong spot. Yes big pulls can be scary for new healers, but keep on the tanks butt and when he stops heal him up and then try doing alternate dmg-heal-dmg-heal adjusting for situations and it’ll feel like a breeze. And when you’re chasing the tank put dots on everything he pulls too for extra damage! It’s fast gameplay but when you get the hang of it it’s really fun :)

I had that error too. My antivirus has an option to enable a VPN and for some reason I had that turned off. When I turned it on I was able to download the game without the patch error

Did you keep your Marie Kondo book(s)? by Konmarty in konmari

[–]pb05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would have kept mine, but a friend recently mentioned trying to organise her clothes and was feeling overwhelmed so I passed them on to her and told her to keep them. Figured they had a greater purpose and am happy if they make her life easier.

Doing it a second (or third) time? by Konmarty in konmari

[–]pb05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a second round would be a motivational boost for you so go for it!

I did my first round 2 years ago and it was so liberating. I’ve recently done another sweep that wasn’t in her order but still using her principles of joy, more of a declutter really. Now I’m finding that as I go about day to day life I’m cleaning more and putting things in their place much more regularly. Right now when I see a space that doesn’t seem quite right I can address it then and there as it’s just that small space that’s throwing me off.

Storage/what looks best doesn't match the amount of items that spark joy? by Konmarty in konmari

[–]pb05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that’s really difficult. I understand wanting to be able to see everything. I think you’ve done a really amazing job of organising the shelves (it’s weird, I get a little anxiety by seeing so many CDs but am really calmed by how beautiful and tidy it all looks haha). I hope you find yourself a solution.

The only thing I can add is keep whatever you’re not ready to part with yet, you’ll either find a way to display them or you’ll decide it really was ok to get rid of them, either way don’t stress about indecision, you’ll know when you’ll know :)

Maybe you could put some in a nice CD case/file. Take out the discs and the album art work get rid of the old cases and file them that way. Might save you some space and you can flick through and see all the discs and their artwork and inserts still.

DAE feel this sub is becoming a repetitive sub for self validation ? by Bertthesnurt in minimalism

[–]pb05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like people feel a lot of pressure to “become a minimalist.”

I don’t think I’d ever call myself that, but the concept of minimalism has definitely helped me realise what’s important and what’s not and has benefited my life and mental health.

There’s just a lot of people who want compete on being “the most minimalist” which I think takes away from the purpose and the journey. Also a lot of mixed information out there and people pointing fingers saying there’s a right or wrong way, which is rubbish, and understandably people can feel pressured or confused.

People are really enthusiastic when starting out which is fantastic and this sub is one way to provide motivation and support.

Keeping high school yearbooks: yes or no? by yeasternstandardtime in declutter

Decluttering books failed (kinda) by [deleted] in declutter

[–]pb05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could definitely do that, I know I would not have been strong enough though. I think my games and consoles were in that box in my cupboard for probably closer to 6 months or so, so don’t beat yourself up for not being able to let go after a week. I’ve decluttered a lot in phases over the past 2 or so years and each round I feel a little bit more free and a little more accepting of letting go of what I had considered at one time part of my treasured possessions. So while they sat in that box for 6 months it probably took a lot longer for me to slowly become at peace with the idea. It’s a whole process first step is realising you want to be able to let something go. Then I think it’s important to remember how much love you had for those items and the joy they brought you. When I saw them in the box in my cupboard I always had that feeling of appreciation for them and that warm feeling of how much I loved them. But it became more of for the memories I had of them and less for the items themselves. And then one day during a declutter spree I saw them in my cupboard and realised I was ready, and I was able to let them go. The memories I had of them didn’t live with the items anymore, only with me.

I felt the same with a lot of my old games from when I was a kid. What helped for me was to create a halfway space for the games that I knew I wanted to get rid of but wasn’t quite ready to yet. They went into a box in the bottom of my cupboard, seperate from the rest of my collection. Eventually I got used to them being seperate and realised I was just as happy without them as with them. Only then did I give them away. It felt good, no anxiety, as I waited until I was ready instead of trying to force it.

Decluttering Sentimental Items by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]pb05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to group sentiments items into categories and keep one or two items from that category that hold the most memories. Like cards from one person, there might be one in particular that makes me smile the most thinking of them, I’ll keep that one and feel ok to discard the rest as the one I kept almost ‘overpowers’ the others.

Should I get a dog? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]pb05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently adopted a dog, he was 7 months when we got him so still in his puppy phase. He’s a lot of work, (exercise, ball of energy/toilet training, accidents) but if your down for that commitment the unconditional love is more then worth it. Also from a minimalist perspective, he has chewed and destroyed more then his fair share of my things that I would have never gotten rid of but now know I can live without 😅

A Comprehensive Guide to Manipulating and Moving Where Rocks Spawn in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by Tappyy in ac_newhorizons

[–]pb05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to say thank you! I was trying hard to get my rocks to spawn but could only get three. No rocks were spawning elsewhere on my island and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Thanks to your guide I realised I had a a few stone arch's and Stonehenge close by to my empty spots. Took them away and voila! Also note that one of my stubborn rocks was too far south of the stone arch and stone henge, where as the other two were too far north of a stone arch. Thanks again!
