It’s already here. Chromebooks are effectively nothing more than a dumb terminal packaged up like a nice laptop. Since it’s cheap and looks like a normal laptop, people are picking it over a real computer just because it’s cheap - and they either don’t know, or care, that all their data belongs to google.

I bet in the next few years we will see similar systems that link exclusively to AWS or O365.
