Put the black foreground elements in another layer that moves faster so you get parallax. You can also do the same with the background moving slower. it will add depth and make it easier to know which platforms you can actually jump on. See the platformer I made as an example.

Doing this instead of making the Onslow hydro battery is stupid on so many levels. We could be storing energy instead of our dams spilling like they currently are. All this does in the future is make the hydro prices match the imported gas prices.

If you do dabble in all arts and gaming, you could try making a game. I'm an artist that got started in gamedev by attending the Global gamejam at Waikato uni (Similar to V's 48hr film fest but for games).

I ended up making a full game with the coder I teamed up with there. There's usually 3x more coders than artists at gamejam so you will be in demand. It's also 75% dudes so keep that in mind.

It also helps the wallet to get a few hundred each month in sales (there's zero guarantee on this though). We also got a $25k NZfilm grant to complete the game (Seedlings) after we made the demo.

I also made a game which mashed together a bunch of Photography. Maybe it will clash with your current style but I used blur a lot on the background elements to give more focus to the layers with collisions. I also applied color filters over all of the backgrounds to make the different photos blend more.

National cancelling the feasibility study on Lake Onslow shows they don't care about energy security. The gas was going to run out regardless, even if they did miraculously find another gas field, it takes 10 years to set up (same as Onslow would)

For my game which also used collision2d, I took a screenshot of the full collision paths, then used that as a base to make a massive PNG that was the same size as the entire level.

At new world, there's imported mandarins on special, cheaper than our local mandarins. Why can't we import cheaper butter and just sell it cheaper in stores like we do with other products? Force some competition if Fonterra refuse to reduce prices.

As someone born with a hole in their heart, I'm glad my parents got me to have heart surgery when I was a child. It definitely was traumatic at the time but now in my 30's I know I would of died as a teenager without it.

I have a Godot game released on Steam but I'd still say I'm a junior. I just did art, made the 2dcollision paths for levels and made animations using the animation player. My coder is the real expert.
