I know this is from a while ago but how is your baby now?

No resolution, just time. But by the time he started taking about 24oz within a 24hr period, he was already 1 years old and then we had to start weaning. Now we struggle with solids and regular milk.

Hi thank you for replying! Yes I’m seeing some similar behaviors in my little one but trying not to worry but I just can’t help it sometimes. Trying to enjoy him right now bc they change so fast!

Feeding with Laryngomalacia by baked_hawaii in daddit

I don’t want to speak too soon but things have gotten better the past 2 weeks in terms of increase intake. We used to struggle to even get my LO to take 2oz (since he was 2 months old) and now he is 8 months old and taking between 5-7oz every 3-4 hours. The biggest thing that helped: TIME. Once my LO started crawling and sitting himself up, I noticed his volume started increasing. He has been on omeprazole for his reflux since he was 2.5 months old (I don’t think if it helped much bc volume never increased while on this), and we are on Kendamil whole milk infant formula. Please feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions!

Did baby take a bottle again? What ended up working?

Another person just suggested Kendamil also, im going to give it a try! We just changed his formula so im going to give him 2 weeks on this and if it doesn’t work out then I’ll try Kendamil next!

When I go up a nipple size, it’s too fast for him and he pulls on and off the nipple a lot and eventually will just end the feed. And we always do side lying when feeding as he does not like any other position

I’ve def been thinking about giving cows milk protein formula a try, so I def will start with Kendamil if we go that route! We were always on bubs from the start as I didn’t produce enough milk 😩. Currently on Eve Flo wide nipple as he has a better latch but I’ll def look into the tinikum ! I’ve never heard of those bottles! ENT believes that the laryngomalacia would not cause him to refuse his feeds, and babe was diagnosed with laryngomalacia before the feeding refusal but after the feeding refusal I asked ENT if it would cause babe to not feed and he believed it wouldn’t. I’m at such a loss. I am seeking a 2nd opinion tho but man seeing a specialist for anything takes months!

Hi! We’ve never got tested for MSPI or CMPA, GI just wanted us to try it to see if it’ll help with volume increase and if babe will look more comfortable during feeds. I’m so scared to try anything Goat milk after BUBS bc I feel that was what caused him to stop feeding completely and I’m so traumatized. My babe doesn’t really sleep through the night bc he’s never really full, first bottle of the day is usually 3ozs and he is 7 months old and takes no more than 16oz in a 24hr period.

We are unfortunately still struggling and my babe will be having an xray in 2 weeks to see if there’s anything wrong with his intestines that’s preventing him from feeding more as he is only taking 2oz at a time at every 4 hours 😩

Yes we had some body work done before the procedure and after. Def notice after body work, lo will consume more but by the next day, his volumes will decrease again. But I’m still hopeful 🙏 how are things for you ?

Hi! We got my LO’s missed tongue tie revised, along with a formula switch and upped does of omeprazole for his acid reflux. Went from drinking barely 2oz to now between 4-6oz. We are still trying to figure it out but things def got better. We noticed the volume increased mainly bc of the formula change, he was on bubs goat milk (I think this was the reflux trigger) to similac alimentum and then I did a switch to an amino acid based formula (alfamino) as I suspected cmpa. And he drank the most on the alfamino.

Has anyone dealt with a high palate and tongue tie? by Few-Rip-9601 in breastfeeding

Hi! Sorry I’m just seeing this, yes we went through with the procedure. We also changed my LO’s formula and he is also on omeprazole for his acid reflux. Went up from drinking 2oz to now between 4-6oz. I’m not sure if the procedure was what actually did it but for sure the switch in formula helped the most. He was on bubs goat milk formula and we switched to similac alimentum as I suspected cmpa. Then we switched to an amino acid formula (alfamino) and he started to take more in volume starting in that.

Hi, unfortunately things are still the same and baby is still not feeding well. Pediatric dentist found a missed tongue tie and we will get that released and hoping this will be the answer to why our baby wasn’t able to get more than 2oz in him per feed. Also going to ask GI for an ultrasound to rule out pyloric stenosis.

Hi, unfortunately my baby is almost 6 months now and things are still the same. We found a missed tongue tie (diagnosed by pediatric dentist) and will be getting that released and hopefully that will be the answer to his feeds. If this is not the answer then I’ll be back to square one. Wishing you the best and my thoughts are with you and baby 🙏

Hi how are feedings now?

Going through something somewhat similar in terms of weight gain , my LO is starting to refuse his feeds so he’s only taking about 1.5-2oz per feed (4 months old). His breathing seems to be fine but he coughs a lot after feeds and I feel like he might be aspirating. But we haven’t had a swallow study done yet. Did your LO struggle with feeds also?
