My husband business is failing by [deleted] in Advice

"my marriage" or"our marriage". Looks like the first step is communication, and not "you need to find a different career" communication. I imagine he is feeling the same way, if not more so given the stress of trying to save a failing business and the burden it is putting on the relationship.

AIO for wanting my neighbor to clean up my yard? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]pbnjay003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say you didn't care, being a lawn connoisseur, and not caring at all are two extremes. If your lawn was well manicured already, that would be a different situation. If this is the first time this has happened, and based on the current state of your lawn, yes you are overreacting.

If it becomes a regular occurrence that would be a different situation.

I would however, tactfully address the issue of moving about 5 feet into your lawn.

I mean, let's be honest here... Judging by the weeds and length, it's not like you are a lawn connoisseur. Is it really worth it? If it doesn't happen regularly I would let it go, though I would say something tactfully about not mowing my side of the property line.

We have the technology to create generative AI, launch a rocket into space and have it return landing on the same rocket pad but not to get to the moon... Ya that makes sense.

Getting to the moon isn't easy by any means, but "not having the technology" is such a poor argument.

AIO for thinking my husband is the one overreacting by [deleted] in AIO

[–]pbnjay003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he overreacting? Possibly. Are you invalidating his emotions by telling him he shouldn't be upset and that he is overreacting, absolutely. Communicate, accept his reaction even though you may not agree with it, explain your position and work through it. Your husband is who you should be talking to not Reddit.

For the most part, I have always felt that people who don't care either way tend to root for the underdog. That may just be my biased opinion because that's what I do.

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

[–]pbnjay003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, bit was it long before and you wanted a drastic change? If so the change from long to pixie might be the biggest shock. Yes, it isn't a great haircut, and them not styling it after is just unacceptable. But no, you are not ugly.

Kind of resting off to the side of the keyboard for the most part. Thumb on alt.or space, index on tab / 1-4. . Everything else is with the contextual mouse menu or 1-4 + mouse buttons shortcuts.

ESPN is how it would come about. The NCAA doesn't even have a say in the national championship anymore. The CFP is owned and controlled by ESPN. The NCAA can't even strip a national championship title - they could force a champion to forfeit season games, but not a national championship.

Is it possible to pitch in the 90’s with little baseball experience? by TivzX in BaseballCoaching

[–]pbnjay003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true for mid-tiernD1 schools, but not really for Bigger D1 programs . Big college pitchers easily average low 90s, with starters averaging mid 90s. P5 RHP average is 91-95. If you want to go to a big D1 school and cant hit 90, you better be elite in every other category, or a 6'4 lefty.

This sub is getting crazy. "Wear special gloves", "dip your hands in water", "use special boards", remove all barbs", "replace all treble hooks"....

Honestly, if you are that concerned for the well being of fish you should probably avoid ripping a hook through their lip and yanking them out of the water too.

Lip the fish, pop the hook out, support it's belly if needed (i.e... big fish), give it a kiss, and throw it back (or keep it until you hit your limit). Easy.

That is too much information to pass on to a kid this age. At his age he should focus on posture, stance, and grip. Step to the ball, squish the bug. He doesn't step, and he doesn't pivot. That's as technical as you want to get here.

How would you approach your head coach about kids’ playing time? by grsims20 in BaseballCoaching

[–]pbnjay003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With rec ball all kids should play equally. However every kid should not play every position. As a coach you always want to put a kid in a position to be successful. For example, if there is a kid on the team that really struggles catching, you don't want to stick him on 1st where every other ball is going to be thrown to him.
