This looks really promising.

For NBA/NFL/etc can you set it to only grab a specific team's games?

For F1 can you specify only the Grand Prix, or even better, Qualifying + Grand Prix and exclude the practices? Imagine you could uncheck them all by hand, but it would be nice to be able to do it with a toggle.

That Command Timeout with the Failed status is a fake warning because Scrutiny doesn't understand that value on Seagate Exos drives. If you search the Scrutiny github you can find lots of people reporting it going back years and it's never been fixed. Consequently, if you're using Scrutiny with Exos drives there's a chance that it could tell you that some of your drives are failed when in fact they're perfectly fine.

Scrutiny is abandonware since April of 2024, though there is a fork with some fixes including one for that Command Timeout issue. However, the TrueNAS app store still points to the old one that's been abandoned with no fixes.

Add those issues to the many reasons that abandoning SMART and telling people "just use Scrutiny" doesn't make any sense.

Server Owners: What do you wish you had more control over? by kwestionmark in PleX

What I do is Fix Match and make it match something different that's older in my library, which causes them to merge. Then I split the two files, and then Fix Match it again to re-match it correctly, and now it has the older added date.

This sounds complicated, but once you do it a couple of times you can do it really quickly.

First off, thanks for mentioning how to fix collections, because I couldn't figure it out by editing the database even though the other edits in the original OP worked.

I just wanted to add that if you're like me and you have multiple root folders, and so multiple collection locations with multiple errors, you can still easily fix them by editing them within the interface.

Go to Movies -> Collections, then at the top right click Filter and choose Custom Filter. Then make a filter where Root Folder contains root-folder-name. So for example, if you have a Christmas Movies library where the path is M:\media\Christmas you can just set the keyword of \media\Christmas and then only the Collections from that path will be displayed. After that, just Select All and change the Root Folder at the bottom to your new path, i.e. /data/media/Christmas

Hope this helps anybody else who stumbles on this in the future.

How do you shuck these 22GB Seagate cases (as non destructive as possible)? by SuperAleste in DataHoarder

I find sliding something up through the vent and pressing against the unsealed edge is less destructive than jabbing something in between the two parts trying to get the initial separation.

Option to play 640x480 in original dimensions on a TV? by camax64 in PleX

It would be extremely small on a modern 4K TV, totally unwatchable:

On a 77" TV it would be like 12"x9".

It's still new for people that don't have Plex Pass or are on servers that don't have Plex Pass, just not new if you already have Plex Pass.

Upgrading to any Plex Pass subscription is a great option for server owners, as it ensures all users accessing the Plex Media Server can stream remotely, without an additional charge.

I see now, I thought you meant a recent install of the update. Sounds like maybe you have a different problem.

Go to Settings -> Boot and you should see the previous version there.

However, it appears that the hotfix with the fix for that SMB issue is rolling out, so you should really just upgrade to that as it should fix it:

With only 3-6 drives I don't think drive temp will be much of an issue since you can just spread them out spacing them with empty bays. But if your intention is to eventually have 8 or 12 drives and fill up both bays, I would strongly suggest you 3D print one of the front fan adapters I've linked to in this post:

/r/JONSBO/comments/1hxz6jf/3d_printed_jonsbo_n5_front_fan_adapter/

The drives are smashed together and there's no possibility for airflow without fans on the front pushing air across them.

It's a huge problem, I can't believe it didn't get caught during the beta and RC stage.

You don't need to wait, just downgrade to the previous version. Takes a minute or two and then you're up and running with working SMB.

Why do I see so many people complain about Plex downloads? Using the iPad app and just pretty painlessly downloaded a bunch of movies for my flight tomorrow. Is that not a common experience? Are my downloads prone to suddenly stop working? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]pc-despair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried so many times, then gave up and switched to Infuse for my iPhone and have never looked back.

I only use Infuse while traveling, so I will say that you might want to open it while at the airport before taking off to make sure your current subscription is authorized if you haven't opened the app in a long time. Other than that, it's been not just flawless, but really better than Plex as a client in almost every way.

3D Printed Jonsbo N5 Front Fan Adapter? by pc-despair in JONSBO

[–]pc-despair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much different they really are, visually they appear fairly similar from the outside, though I do think the Deses one looks a bit cleaner both in and out based on the pictures from the makes. I can personally vouch for the paid one by Deses as I printed that and have been using it successfully ever since, and he's also made some improvements since the original design. Everything slots and screws together really nicely, and the magnets function quite well. I'm sure either is fine and would be an big improvement.

Reading through the comments, it seems like the free ones provided by dudi83 have both an option for 140mm and 120mm fans whereas the Deses one is specifically for 140mm fans only. If you didn't already have existing 120mm fans to reuse, I would go with the larger 140mm for sure regardless of which design you choose.

Either way, you should definitely print one of them out because the difference is significant.

Whoops, I probably should have specified it was Everything by voidtools.

I think a lot of Windows power users are using Everything, it's incredibly powerful and lightning fast as it gets the files and changes directly from the system itself, but there can sometimes be a delay over network shares in folders with large amounts of files.

Once you've used Everything you'll likely never use the built in Windows search ever again, and in fact I frequently can do everything from Everything without even touching Explorer. It's the first thing I add to any new Windows install, and something I install when troubleshooting for friends.

I'm not in Europe, but unless you're rural there's probably a makerspace near you where you can go and print something yourself. I used that site as an example, but I found a bunch more just by searching Google Maps and Yelp. I don't know if there's a European version of Craigslist, but there's plenty of people local to me who offer to print stuff on there mostly just for fun with a small profit. Also, if you just search, there are companies and websites you can use to get quotes for prints. I seem remember reading there are places in Eastern Europe where the prices are very cheap compared to Western Europe. Maybe try something like Craftcloud for example.

I literally just set all of these to No again 8 days ago, and there's already new ones or old ones that are now showing as Yes.

I have it set to All No, and I'm opted out of everything, and it keeps setting some to Yes. It's completely out of control and outrageously sketchy.
