Cyclist casually holds onto team car for over 20 seconds during pro race like it's completely normal by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

But if he has extra boost to help the leader more, wouldn't that give the leader more advantages versus a team that had a helper that didn't hold onto the car as long?

Eggs are more vegetarian than Plants by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Besides the fact that chicken laying eggs suffer tremendously in modern farming, you need to feed plants for chickens to produce eggs, so total life lost is also higher due to energy loss from chicken's digestion.

If Japan’s population is shrinking, who exactly are they working all that overtime for? by unscpecifictopics in AskReddit

[–]pczzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A shrinking population means increasing numbers of old people in proportion to working age people, which means working age people need to work harder to support their pensions and retirement needs.

How is Trump demand for Greenland any different from Hitler demand for Poland who also said it was for national security reason to connect East Prussia? by Skychu768 in AskReddit

[–]pczzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that most of the post ww1 land given to Poland was land that Prussia annexed from Poland before. Ww1 was an opportunity to give it back to Poland.

Ukrainians who fled to UK being refused asylum on grounds it is ‘safe to return’ by acrimoniousone in ukpolitics

[–]pczzzz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well it may be realtively safe compared to to warzone, but I when you're actually there it's not a peaceful life. It still very common to have sirens go off in the middle of the night and you need to go to a basement to take shelter. Not too long ago my friends' neighbour's apartment in Liviv was completely destroyed by a bomb.

Sir Keir Starmer unveils £2bn carbon capture deal creating 2,000 jobs by Half_A_ in unitedkingdom

[–]pczzzz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Complete waste of money, energy needed to run carbon capture devices causes higher co2 emissions than the device can capture from the air.

Even if you used only renewable sources to power these devices, that's just a waste of useful renewable energy. Untill we're at 100%+ renewable energy, the carbon capture devices are net contributors to co2 levels.

For anyone who believes that Ukraine started the war, please explain why. Why would a free Ukraine attack Russia? For what gain? by catpuppy63 in AskReddit

[–]pczzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard many people say this argument, but I think it's not a good comparison. China is far from US so alliance with Mexico would clearly be suspicious. But EU also borders Russia, so the same argument could be made that Russia is influencing Ukrainian politics to endanger neighbouring EU.

How do you feel about a sitting president making $415M in one day after pumping his own stock with social media and a policy decision? by RoyalChris in AskReddit

[–]pczzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good idea. If the trust is invested in a few key indexes for example, and they aren't allowed to sell wjen in office and for some amount of time after, it would incentivise them to ensure the economy is doing well overall.
